Historia
A pool boy enters a secluded Bel Air property and discovers two bodies floating in the bright blue water: Gio Aggiunta, the playboy heir to an Italian shoe empire, and a gorgeous, even wealthier neighbor named Meagin March. A married neighbor. An illicit affair stoking rage is a perfect motive. But a “double” in this neighborhood of gated estates isn’t something you see every day. The house is untouched. No forced entry, no forensic evidence. The case has “that feeling,” and when that happens, Milo turns to his friend, the brilliant psychologist Alex Delaware.

Typical Alex Delaware
Revisado: 04-18-25
I normally read Alex Delaware stories in print, but needed a listen for a road trip. I've always enjoyed the print novels by Kellerman, so thought this might carry over to audio. From the very beginning, I found the narrator's choppy phrasing distracting, and found my mind wandering through passages of endless descriptions of characters' clothing and specific scenes. The story was good and Kellerman is good at introducing facts and relevant details as he leads up to the reveal of the ultimate suspect. I like that about his style. I might stick to the print version of the Kellerman books in the future so I can skip though descriptive text and get on with the story faster; and avoid a less than stellar reader in the audio version.

Uncompelling Story
Revisado: 02-28-25
I did not find the main character to be very likeable...the story line did not hold my interest...I struggled to finish this listen. I'm not really sure why I stuck with it and will probably not spend credits on more books by this author.

Predictable
Revisado: 09-27-24
I really struggled to finish this book. The structure of the story, the climax and resolution were all too predictable. The cadence and phrasing of the narrator was distracting. Her attempts to "teen speak" missed the mark...but it could have been the writer's choice of words that didn't seem realistic. This book might have been more appealing to younger listeners. I had hoped the ending would have held a twist that would surprise me. It did not.

The last pages of this book allow Matthew the chance to effectively say his goodbyes to all of us who listened...and felt his struggles and pain. I believe God has taken him home to the peace he was seeking. Thank you for leaving us this audio book. No one else could have narrated it so meaningfully.

Boring, dry delivery of common leadership principl
Revisado: 02-23-23
The material alternated between insightful crisis management techniques and common leadership principles with newly coined buzzwords to describe them. The narrator has a faltering delivery with a monotonous voice and cadence. As a member of a crisis response team, there were definitely takeaways from this course which I'll use. I might have preferred this as a "read" rather than a "listen" when I consider content over delivery.

Contrived......
Revisado: 11-09-22
Too many subplots are woven together to create a predictable outcome. I did not like the main character at all and will most likely pass on reading other books in this series.

Historia
Marnie Logan often feels like she's being watched: A warm breath on the back of her neck, or a shadow in the corner of her eye that vanishes when she turns her head. She has reason to be frightened. Her husband Daniel has inexplicably vanished, and the police have no leads in the case. Without proof of death or evidence of foul play, she can't access his bank accounts or his life insurance. Depressed and increasingly desperate, she seeks the help of clinical psychologist Joe O'Loughlin.

Another Robotham thriller.
Revisado: 07-22-22
This writer's style draws you right into the story. You are empathetic to the main character, but Robotham allows you room to doubt as the story progresses. The narrator takes command of each character both in voice timbre and speech patterns. You are never left wondering who is speaking as you listen. The quick cadence of the story and shortened chapters don't draw out the ending, but build to a satisfactory conclusion. Good story and a great listen.

For seven Saturdays Quinn does yard work for Ona Vitkus, the spry 104-year-old Lithuanian immigrant the boy had visited weekly.

Character Development is Superb
Revisado: 07-09-22
How can the death of a boy bring so many people together in a journey of self-discovery? The author interweaves the timeline of the boy's interactions with the characters before his death with the new relationships that are developed as a result of his death. I felt as if I knew each character personally. I honestly didn't expect to like this book, but I did. If you like character development in the best sense, this is the book for you. The narrator easily slipped into the voices to make the story so relevant and believable. Take a chance. You won't be disappointed.

Predictable and Tries too Hard
Revisado: 06-07-22
I really struggled to stay focused and interested. Even when my mind wandered, I was able to keep up. Sandford tried too hard to have Letty out"man" her partner with her gun knowledge and tough girl persona. I loved that the character who was the militia leader was a female; mostly because her plan was detailed down to the minutia which suited the storyline. I probably wont read or listen to another Letty book. I much prefer Lucas.

16 Years and the Crime is Solved
Revisado: 05-06-22
Obsessive behaviors by the two main characters...one, a controlling narcissist and the other looking for answers to crimes committed 16 years earlier. A predictable ending, but the story did keep my attention. Yes, it's worth the listen.
