I enjoyed it
Revisado: 09-12-18
Performed by David Spade. It was an interesting glimpse into his world. The anecdotes were personal, but not sappy. Still light hearted and fun. Probably not Pulitzer material, but a good use of 6hrs. I will listen to this again.

Historia
There's a reason We Are Legion was named Audible's Best Science Fiction Book of 2016: Its irresistibly irreverent wit! Bob Johansson has just sold his software company for a small fortune and is looking forward to a life of leisure. The first item on his to-do list: Spending his newfound windfall. On an urge to splurge, he signs up to have his head cryogenically preserved in case of death. Then he gets himself killed crossing the street. Waking up 117 years later, Bob discovers his mind has been uploaded into a sentient space probe with the ability to replicate itself.

Very enjoyable listen
Revisado: 06-15-17
I loved the presentation of this novel. The narrator is very enjoyable to listen to, his inflections are spot on, and you really understand the subtle differences in the iterations of Bob. Its Part 1, so the story needed introducing, and some of it you just have to accept as sci-fi, but I anticipate the next book to be just as entertaining.

Historia
Our ancestors crossed deserts, mountains, and oceans without even a whisper of what anyone today might consider modern technology. Those feats of endurance now seem impossible in an age where we take comfort for granted. But what if we could regain some of our lost evolutionary strength by simulating the environmental conditions of our forbears? Investigative journalist and anthropologist Scott Carney takes up the challenge to find out: Can we hack our bodies and use the environment to stimulate our inner biology?

Intriguing Listen
Revisado: 04-18-17
I appreciated how Mr. Carney entered this endeavor as a skeptic prepared for the letdown. But upon meeting Wim Hof and becoming a disciple of his method, they accomplish some pretty amazing feats. I won't spoil anything, but it is a real testament to the boundaries of human accomplishment. Oh, and I also started taking cold showers.

Historia
As the shadows of the Empire loom ever larger across the galaxy, so do deeply troubling rumors. The Rebellion has learned of a sinister Imperial plot to bring entire worlds to their knees. Deep in Empire-dominated space, a machine of unimaginable destructive power is nearing completion. A weapon too terrifying to contemplate . . . and a threat that may be too great to overcome.

A fun listen, an audio presentation
Revisado: 01-16-17
I loved the movie. This audiobook is more than just a story, its a pretty elaborate presentation, with music and sound effects. It elaborates on each character's actions and motivations, so we get a better understanding of why they do what they do. It really just makes the 2 hour movie a 12 hour adventure.

Historia
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Incredible
Revisado: 01-02-17
I couldn't stop listening to it. Mr. Noah narrates, and his story is mesmerizing. Listening to his childhood and teen years, as South Africa transitioned out of apartheid. Growing up poor, yet never despondent. His bond between himself and his mother. My only complaint is this book is only 8hrs, 45mins, because I could listen to his stories any time.

Historia
Considered one of the great dystopian novels - alongside Anthony Burgess's A Clockwork Orange and Aldous Huxley's A Brave New World - Ira Levin's frightening glimpse into the future continues to fascinate listeners even 40 years after publication. The story is set in a seemingly perfect global society. Uniformity is the defining feature; there is only one language and all ethnic groups have been eugenically merged into one race called "The Family".

Presentation takes some getting used to
Revisado: 08-20-16
Good story. With so many dystopian future stories available now, hard to distinguish this one as unique, but must also keep in mind that this one was written in 1970. Overall a good listen, but I wouldn't consider it great. The way the audiobook is presented takes some getting used to, tho. Parts of the story that are relatively inconsequential are read with the same tone and urgency as the more action/important parts. The story is read rather quickly, had to adjust it down a little.
