Historia
You can say goodbye to today's Internet, New York Times best-selling author George Gilder says. Soon the current model of aggregated free content populated with "value-subtracted" advertising will die a natural deat. In Life After Google, Gilder takes listeners on a brilliant, rocketing journey into the very near-future, into an Internet with a new "bitcoin-bitgold" transaction layer that will replace spam with seamless micro-payments and provide an all-new standard for global money.

Let me save you some time. This author thinks Google is evil, blockchain is amazing and that he’s Nostradamus. Nothing new or helpful or interesting in this book and definitely not a view of the future or changing landscape.

To market your business, reach new customers, and create long-lasting loyalty, you need one indispensable element: CONTENT. Whether it’s bite-sized tweets that allow you to forge relationships on Twitter, blog posts that give your readers must-have advice, ebooks or white papers that engage (and don’t bore), videos that share the human side of your company, interactive webinars that deliver a valuable learning experience, or podcasts that can be downloaded and listened to on the fly (and more!) . . .

Historia
Beloved author Elizabeth Gilbert returns to fiction with a unique love story set in the New York City theater world during the 1940s. Told from the perspective of an older woman as she looks back on her youth with both pleasure and regret (but mostly pleasure), City of Girls explores themes of female sexuality and promiscuity, as well as the idiosyncrasies of true love. In 1940, nineteen-year-old Vivian Morris has just been kicked out of Vassar College, owing to her lackluster freshman-year performance.

Absolutely LOVED it!!
Revisado: 01-19-20
I absolutely LOVED this book! I had to keep reminding myself that this was a letter in response to a potentially difficult question. The writer weaves a lovely story with the perfect amount of detail so you feel as though you’re in the story yourself. I could see the theater, the costumes, the people...everything! I loved the humor! And the final invitation is so heart-warning. Definitely a favorite!

I wish I could have loved it more...
Revisado: 04-22-19
We read this book as part of our Book Club. Perhaps it was because I listened via Audible that the ever changing time frames became somewhat confusing. I liked the characters, but couldn’t get fully invested (unlike many of my other Book Club members). It wasn’t until Chapter 13 that I truly become interested; where I didn’t have to be actively engaged in a physical action to avoid going to sleep and/or didn’t have to rewind so often, because my mind wandered elsewhere. When the story’s narration switches to the father’s perspective, I gained greater appreciation for the heart of the story. It’s message is clear. Be less critical and more compassionate. Speak your love everyday. Explain why, even to young children. Embrace that we are all imperfect. Some take longer to process the meaning in our lives, but if we are always striving to understand, we exist with humility. Forgive.

Historia
When Cora Seaborne's brilliant, domineering husband dies, she steps into her new life as a widow with as much relief as sadness: her marriage was not a happy one. Wed at 19, this woman of exceptional intelligence and curiosity was ill-suited for the role of society wife. Seeking refuge in fresh air and open space in the wake of the funeral, Cora leaves London for a visit to coastal Essex, accompanied by her inquisitive and obsessive 11-year old son, Francis, and the boy's nanny, Martha.

I tried to like this book...
Revisado: 08-06-18
Admittedly, I'm a little new to this audible experience, but this story just never grabbed me, and I tried. I REALLY tried! This was the 5th book I've "read," and despite rewinding, starting over, and changing the activity I participated in while listening, I just couldn't do it. In fact, only 1 of our book club members actually finished it, and even she had difficulty! According to her, it takes a good 200+ pages to get to the real story. That's far too long! And while the author does a wonderful job of setting the scene and providing detailed descriptions, perhaps less would be more. I will say that the final letter in the back of the book was eloquently written. It made me want to read the book...but I don't dare start yet AGAIN.

Historia
Modern society is plagued by fragmentation. The various sectors of our communities - businesses, schools, social service organizations, churches, government - do not work together. They exist in their own worlds. As do so many individual citizens, who long for connection but end up marginalized, their gifts overlooked, their potential contributions lost.

Excellent book for partnerships
Revisado: 01-20-17
If you could sum up The Partnership Charter in three words, what would they be?
Valuable, thought-provoking, & straightforward. As someone contemplating bringing others into my business as partners, this book was perfect. The author provided valuable, actionable material instead of just opining on their perspective. There are great example stories and the framework is easy to follow. I've listened 3x already and plan to keep this on my re-read list.

Inch deep and pretty basic
Revisado: 07-24-16
I was intrigued by the title and wanted to like this book. It's very basic. I'm a software developer and I didn't learn anything from this book about marketing. While she cited examples, there's not much depth to them and she tried to cover too much content in such a short book. It was as though she spent as much time writing it as I did listening to it.
