sneaking in the churchiness
Revisado: 07-31-24
the story was a great idea. execution was a bit anemic but the point that slavery definitely did not end with emancipation, was well made. The ending was predictable three chapter from the epilougue.
it definitely could do without the preachy faith in god vibe, disguised as Literature. I lost interest when it became apparent this was a book of Christian lessons about faith. Not because that can't be a good story, but because it was so clearly front and center. Awkwardly bumbling in its simplicity and definitely lacking in a graceful nuanced storyline.
