The narrator is awful!

The storyline was good. But I could hardly get through the book. The lady narrating needs some work. She's too excitable when it's not needed, and not excitable enough when it is needed. It really makes it hard to discern what is supposed to be inner-dialog... bummer. There is no way I can listen to the other books if it's the same narrator.

It was only OK!

It started out pretty good, then quickly turned into one of those books that leaves you going, "HUH??".

Several times I had to stop listening because it was dragging on in places where it was definitely not needed, and in the parts where more information or character building was needed, it was severely lacking.

I was really fighting with myself over returning this book but I stuck it out and was disappointed in the end just like I knew I would 🥺

This was also my first book by this author, and now I am hesitant to go for another.

Loved everything about it!

Had me hooked from the very beginning. The storyline is strong, and the characters are simply amazing! I wasn't ready for it to end... and now, we wait for the next installment.
If you liked her other books (such as the Year One series), you NEED to give this a read/listen.

Definitely not Dean's best!

The book was hardly mediocre, and thats hard for me to write seeing as he is one of my favorite authors. It drug in and on, and the ending was, well, not there... The male narrator was pretty good, but my God, the woman narrator sounds like she should be doing readings for erotica, not this! Also, you'd think she would get the little girls name right. She pronounces it Aminy... Its annoying! I almost couldn't finish the book, sadly. Listen if you want to be put to sleep at night!

Unexpectedly Great!

I didn't go into the book with high expectations. In fact, I'd never read anything from this author previous. I loved it. Great story line, great characters, the narrator did a fantastic job!

Disappointed

Let me start by saying that I am a huge horror, suspense, mystery, supernatural lover. This book was a big let down. I knew I should have listened to the other reviews. It was a struggle to get through, unfortunately.

Ehhh, turned into Awww!

I have to say that at first, I was not super impressed, and the book did jump around quite a bit and that is not something I usually enjoy. The characters do grow on you though, and towards the end of the book, all I wanted was more! I will definitely finish the trilogy! Excited for the next book!!!
