Based on remarkable new research, acclaimed historian Alexander Rose brings to life the true story of the spy ring that helped America win the Revolutionary War. For the first time, Rose takes us beyond the battlefront and deep into the shadowy underworld of double agents and triple crosses, covert operations and code breaking, and unmasks the courageous, flawed men who inhabited this wilderness of mirrors—including the spymaster at the heart of it all.

Historia
Abigail Adams offers a fresh perspective on the famous events of Adams's life, and along the way, Woody Holton, a renowned historian of the American Revolution, takes on numerous myths about the men and women of the founding era. But the book also demonstrates that domestic dramas---from unplanned pregnancies to untimely deaths---could be just as heartbreaking, significant, and inspiring as the actions of statesmen and soldiers.

Loving everything about the Revolution, I enjoyed the detail of Abigail, my favorite female of the era. What a remarkable woman and even though I do a podcast about the Revolution, The Patriot power Podcast, I learned a lot I hadn’t heard before.

Historia
During the brutal winter of 1775-1776, an untested Boston bookseller named Henry Knox commandeered an oxen train hauling 60 tons of cannons and other artillery from Fort Ticonderoga near the Canadian border. He and his men journeyed some 300 miles south and east over frozen, often treacherous terrain to supply George Washington for his attack of British troops occupying Boston. The result was the British surrender of Boston and the first major victory for the Colonial Army.

Historia
General Benedict Arnold's failed attempt to betray the fortress of West Point to the British in 1780 stands as one of the most infamous episodes in American history. In the light of a shining record of bravery and unquestioned commitment to the Revolution, Arnold's defection came as an appalling shock. Contemporaries believed he had been corrupted by greed; historians have theorized that he had come to resent the lack of recognition for his merits and sacrifices. In this provocative book, Stephen Brumwell challenges such interpretations and draws on unexplored archives to reveal other crucial factors that illuminate Arnold's abandonment of the revolutionary cause he once championed.

Great Perspective • A Must Listen
Revisado: 10-20-23
Studying the American Revolution is my passion. I have always thought of Benedict Arnold in a better light than most, aside from the obvious, and the details and perspective in this book was fair, balanced and I really enjoyed it. My next episode will be about him, on my Patriot Power Podcast.

Historia
If you think you know George Washington, think again. This is the amazing true story of a real-life superhero who wore no cape and possessed no special powers—yet changed the world forever. It's a story about a man whose life reads as if it were torn from the pages of an action novel: Bullet holes through his clothing. Horses shot out from under him. Unimaginable hardship. Disease. Heroism. Spies and double-agents. And, of course, the unmistakable hand of Divine Providence that guided it all.

As an American Revolution teacher and podcast (Patriot Power Podcast) host this is truly a masterpiece. What a joy it was, finishing it in 2 days. It popped up as a recommendation, how I missed it before I have no idea. The words were fantastic and accurate, the voice couldn’t have been a better choice and overall…splendid!

New York Times best-selling authors Newt Gingrich's and William R. Forstchen's George Washington series continues - in a novel about faith, leadership, and the triumph of the American cause. Disappointing
Revisado: 11-09-22
I was hoping for more, anything new. My podcast covers far more “secrets” and nothing new was learned. It has no flow, continuity or interesting facts and made for a bit piece, disjointed and not easy on the ears.
The narration was solid, he just didn’t have anything exciting to read.

A Must Listen
Revisado: 12-24-21
Being a teacher of the American Revolution, it’s important to discuss the facts and not to embellish things to make an event, a person or a country bigger than they actually were. This is a very accurate, detailed account of the people, places and events that shaped our country.
It is sometimes difficult to bring a story to life when you focus on the facts but in this particular account, they did a marvelous job.
This book is so well done it would be a good idea for every child and adult to listen to it. Many Americans forget everything involved in making this country and this might help juggle their memories.
Listen to it, you’ll be very glad you did.

Historians have long told the story of America’s birth as the triumph of Jefferson’s democratic ideals over the aristocratic intentions of Hamilton.
