Historia
In 2007, Joseph Ratzinger published his first book as Pope Benedict XVI in order “to make known the figure and message of Jesus”. Now, the Pope focuses exclusively on the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ life as a child. The root of these stories is the experience of hope found in the birth of Jesus and the affirmations of surrender and service embodied in his parents, Joseph and Mary.

Thoughtful insights. Compare to Brant Pitre's book on Mary for a more in depth historical look at some aspects of Jewish antiquity regarding marriage and vows of chastity

Historia
Of all things Catholic, there is nothing that is so familiar as the Mass. With its unchanging prayers, the Mass fits Catholics like their favorite clothes. Yet most Catholics sitting in the pews on Sundays fail to see the powerful supernatural drama that enfolds them. Pope John Paul II described the Mass as "Heaven on Earth," explaining that what "we celebrate on Earth is a mysterious participation in the heavenly liturgy."

A new understanding of the Mass
Revisado: 07-30-18
Very insightful and completely refreshing look at Revelation and how the Catholic mass which is worship is portrayed there. I can hardly wait to read Revelation again, not with the ever popular interpretations based on news headlines, but what has been viewed by the Church for centuries. This book bears listening/reading twice

Historia
Marcellino D'Ambrosio dusts off what might have been just dry theology to bring you the exciting stories of great heroes such as Ambrose, Augustine, Basil, Athanasius, John Chrysostom, and Jerome. These brilliant, embattled, and sometimes eccentric men defined the biblical canon, hammered out the Creed, and gave us our understanding of sacraments and salvation. It is they who preserved the rich legacy of the early Church for us.

I loved at this book. It is written in a very engaging and interesting way. the author and narrator does an excellent job. I think it's important for Christians to understand the struggles and Legacy of the early church and the church fathers. whoever reads or listens to this book will have an appreciation for how the Holy Spirit has been working in the church from the beginning. It will build one's faith.
