I appreciate the author's humility and not drawing conclusions. If it is his opinion, he says so. The Lord knows the end. His evaluation of end times are pretty conservative. If anything, his teachings on the secularization of America is worth listening to.

John Macarthur stays consistent in his writings. I have heard part of this book in his other books and they are the same. He uses lots of Bible references to support his precepts. I also this think that he isn't too dogmatic, but he is where he needs to be. I like how he starts out spelling exactly what he believes about the Bible.

I am amazed sometimes how very little I know. I believe in an intrinsic, transcendent, eternal truth that has been revealed to us in Scripture. There is no compromise with Gods inerrant Word. I believe that is Dr MacArthur's position. He spells out much about the emerging church and the abandonment of Truth. The delusion of converative theology in favor not being viewed, or labeled, as a closed narrow minded nut.
I sure wish audio books had a bibliography so I could look up the references.

What I liked about this book was how it begin with why you should believe the Bible. Then he goes on on how to read, study, and develop sound habits to understand it. He says several times his position on what the Bible is and isn't. It has a lot of information to digest. He doesn't make the book too academic. With an audio book you don't have the bibliography so that is hinderence for deeper study.
I also enjoyed the narrator. He has a great voice and style.

A Wake Up call for The Individual and The Church

The premise of the book is are we living in the last days of humankind. If we are then what should the individual and the church be doing.
He gives a lot of information that an audio book does not afford you the chance to look at his references ans sources.
He repeats points in different chapters. Since he doesn't say, " As I previously stated" or " Let me repeat my point" , is it his way of being emphatic?
I think his being a "Pan Tribulationist" is what I am going to adopt because I fully agree with him.
I think you should read the book and act on it with prayer and purpose.

I got this book because I have recently discovered Becket Cook on You Tube.   I really enjoy his videos and his honestly.
This book is his story of his life's journey.  His upbringing as the youngest of 8 children in a Catholic family.  His embracing homosexuality as a young man with its inherent emotional, psychological, familial, and social challenges.  His 20 years living as a gay man.  His meeting Jesus Christ and his new journey into faith.
I learned about gay men and what that means.  I also learned the deeply individualistic acknowlegement one makes in choosing to act on their feelings of same sex attraction.  This book in no way condemns people on either side of the issue.  It does clearly deliniate that homosexuality is a sin.  It does a great job lovingly and bibically explaining why that is so.
It very obvious that Mr Cook holds a sincere and deep love for our Lord and Savior.  It is obvious as well that he holds a deep and sincere love of those who are living a gay life.  He doesn't compromise on his beliefs and his convictions of those beliefs.  I found the book to minister to me about what compromise is. What is means to be a disciple of Christ.   His use of scripture was illuminating for me.  He used some very familiar Bible stories to make his points.
Everyone who calls him or herself a Christian should read this book for two good reasons. One, to help you in relation to people who are living a gay lifestyle and two, examine your own life and faith.  I know that Becket Cook knows what it really means to be a disciple of Christ.  I think that many of the rest of us are looking for that wide gate instead of the narrow one.

A great story line of a young couple wanting a child. I saw the Hallmark movies about Mrs Miracle so I was excited to read (listen to) the book. I thought the book would be more in line of what the "Holy Book" says about angels. I was wrong. It is about the same as the movie.
The reason for my 4 stars is that (Please remember that this is my review) the angels are too humanized in this story. The idea that Gabriel is getting gray hairs from 3 mischievous angels is quite the poetic license. The idea that Mrs Miracle "bends the rules" is also a little much. Holy is Holy. The angels of God are His holy angels. I feel that when we make the angels where they bend rules and act on their own accord we also make Him less holy. Yes, it is just a novel and just a story. I get that. Funny how the name of Jesus Christ is never mentioned. I guess that would be offensive to some.

I listened to this and got the distinct impression it was a rushed series to get it out there. Very little depth and it just seemed there was a lot more conflicts and the characters are becoming more and more secular. What I observed was a main character who lived his life for himself and God was a cheer leader. A lot of "Oh by the way God" help me to do what I want to do. So those of you offended by the Biblical quotations should be picking that Bible up and learning for yourselves and not thinking that this fictional lead character is a good example of what a genuine follower of Christ is.

This is my third set of Mr. Goodwin's novels. I have enjoyed them as fictional entertainment , plus it sure makes you think about the world we currently live in. I thInk while enjoying these books I have thought about how fragile our world really is. It is easy to take it all for granted. So far the three series have followed the same story line development. The hero is put into a situation where he reacts to world forces. His girlfriend becomes his wife and they become co-combatents against sinister people. They survive some serious battles while many of their friends and families don't.

Lewis is a brilliant man who has a deep and broad intellect. This is a lot to digest, to get the full value to what he has to say. I had a little difficulty getting the study guide which I have not used yet as I wanted to listen to it all the way through first. He reinforces, to me, that all of this is God given and only God honored in the context of a Christian world view. Lewis reaffirms to me that God is our all in all. In all the four loves, the agape is the key to rightfully divide the others. Anything else is fallen short of His design. It was a treat to hear him do the narration. He strikes me as the kind of teacher you couldn't get anything over on.
