I found this book to be slow, sad, and depressing. Yeah it’s about the ups & downs of life but to be honest even during tough times there’s usually a sliver of humor. This book had none.

Loved it…but

Big fan of the Drunk series & book 6 did not disappoint - with one exception: Drunk’s extremely immature over the top constant bickering on middle school level behavior eventually grated on my nerves. Story had great twists but Drunk/Wilde storyline needs to change or just disappear.

Is it just me? Or are all relationships complicated? I feel a little bit like it might just be me. Because I seem to be the common denominator in every one of my f--ked-up relationships. The only relationship I have that’s not f--ked up is with my octogenarian sidekick, Al. Although even his loyalty has come into question a time or two - like when he tried to turn in his two-weeks' notice and I was forced to remind him that he can’t quit a job he doesn’t have. And even if he could, then he wouldn’t get to hang out with me anymore.

Not my favorite.

This was not one of my favorite Drunk stories. I found his mom overbearing and extremely annoying - like nails on a chalkboard. And his banter with Al forced. He sounded too tired and very flat. Still a fan and will continue with the series.

This story was more in the sci-fi side than I expected. Not to say I don’t enjoy sci-fi it wasn’t what I thought I was getting when I purchased the book. Loved the major twist that had me saying - out loud - “I didn’t see that coming!” And it’s why I recommend this book for most of the unpredictable story lines. Good listen!

I tend to gravitate towards psychological thrillers and/or murder mysteries. At some point I need to switch it up and look for something light and romantic but not sappy. This hit the spot for me. It was predictable even with the twist at the end that I didn’t see coming. Which made it even more enjoyable. Perfect distraction from suspense & crime. If you are a fan of romantic stories or Hallmark channel I highly recommend this book.

Even tho there was so much technical science going on in this book it didn’t take away from the emotions I felt throughout. The narrator had many voices with different dialects to speak and it was flawless. If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would.
