Historia
In the first book of this brilliant series, Stephen King introduces listeners to one of his most powerful creations: Roland of Gilead, The Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. In his desolate world, which frighteningly mirrors our own, Roland tracks The Man in Black, encounters an enticing woman named Alice, and begins a friendship with the boy from New York named Jake.

Really fun vibes

so many elements to the world were introduced nearly immediately, but not in a way that felt rushed at all. the story was both menacing as well as fun.

what vocal range!
Revisado: 08-13-24
Joe Abercrombie is a master in writing of course this story is too amazing The twist and turns are perfectly written into the story but the narration is a level above what you would consider even good narration he has a different voice for nearly every main character of which there is at least a dozen you feel like you're actually being read a story by multiple people instead of just one kudos

really good
Revisado: 05-20-24
other than the graphicness, the story is just brilliantly written. I think I like it because it seems so realistic, in the sense that the ups and downs don't seem to armor the plot as much as they are just part of the story.

Historia
Tamsyn Muir’s Gideon the Ninth unveils a solar system of swordplay, cut-throat politics, and lesbian necromancers. Her characters leap out of the audio, as skillfully animated as arcane revenants. The result is a heart-pounding epic science fantasy. Brought up by unfriendly, ossifying nuns, ancient retainers, and countless skeletons, Gideon is ready to abandon a life of servitude and an afterlife as a reanimated corpse.

a good start
Revisado: 02-27-24
this book ended with giant flair! In the last 5% of story telling that it. it was a pretty good read up to that point, it just felt like there was nothing really "big" happening or nothing big that the story was moving towards. things just kinda kept popping up as the story went along. even the ending was a bigger set up than any other part leading up to it. overall an enjoyable read and I'll be moving on to the next one.

revolutionary!
Revisado: 01-23-24
Joe Abercrombie has quickly become one of my favorite writers! the way his characters push the story line instead of being pushed along by the plot and this gaining the typical "plot armor". the writing style and way he brings character's thought processing out is magnificent. if the story wasn't great, which it is, the character/world building alone would draw you in.

Historia
In the highly anticipated finale to the New York Times best-selling trilogy, dictators, prophets, and tensions rise. In a world that’s conquered death, will humanity finally be torn asunder by the immortal beings it created? Citra and Rowan have disappeared. Endura is gone. It seems like nothing stands between Scythe Goddard and absolute dominion over the world scythedom. With the silence of the Thunderhead and the reverberations of the Great Resonance still shaking the earth to its core, the question remains: Is there anyone left who can stop him?

got me in the end
Revisado: 12-27-23
this book is a little hard to rate for me, the first 65% was kind of slow reading, had to power through it. then at some point in the later half it starts putting on the gas and it doesn't let up. super happy that I stuck with it to the end.
so many characters clashing and coming together and crossing paths, linked with the final culmination of the story to bring ends to every character arc. very well done.
