Historia
She's always watching.... When Guy finds the deeds to a house in his mother's attic, it seems like an incredible stroke of luck. Sure, the building hasn't been inhabited in 40 years and vines strangle the age-stained walls, but Guy is convinced he can clean it up and sell it. He'd be crazy to turn down free money. Right? The house is hours from any other habitation, and Guy can't get phone reception in the old building. He decides to camp there while he does repairs. Surely nothing too bad can happen in the space of a week. But there's a reason no one lives in Rookward House, and the dilapidated rooms aren't as empty as they seem....

bored out of my mind.
Revisado: 06-12-23
nine chapters in and I'm sick of listening to the mundane monotony of listening to this guy do house chores and badly prepare his food I am infuriated that I wasted money on this awful book.

Historia
Shocking scenes of battle, unforgettable soldiers, heartbreaking betrayals. In this stunning, fast-paced novel, a ruthless future war unfolds in a 21st century nightmare: Los Angeles is a radioactive ruin; Europe lies bleeding; and Israel has been destroyed with millions slaughtered. A furious America fights to reclaim the devastated Holy Land. The Marines storm ashore; the U.S. Army does battle in a Biblical landscape.

alternative fiction this is not.
Revisado: 12-03-21
If you were like me and are looking for another novel of an alternative world war 3 or post Armageddon fight that is based around military conflict this is definitely not the book you're looking for This is preaching religious based propagandaish almost about the fact that all religions should be treated as equal It's difficult to describe it and do justice to how poorly the publisher has described this novel I stuck it out till the end and it was absolutely not worth the wait The last hour of the book tries to wrap up what the first 10 setup and fails to do so in any meaningful way
So if you're looking for a battle of Christianity versus Islam where Christianity wins but turns out to be the bad guys and or our religious fanatic that believes that Islam should be wiped off the face of the planet then by all means read this book but with the exception of a decent reader there's nothing to see here

Historia
The First World War was four long years of slaughter, exhaustion, and the near-collapse of a civilization that until 1914 had dominated the globe. Instead of rote memorization of endless facts, figures, names, and places, why not show what happened from those that were there in the trenches, skies, and on the seas? What did they see, hear, and feel?

yawn.

while the details are all there it reads like a Wikipedia article and the narrator has zero feeling or care in his voice. it's like we're all here and no one wants to be.
