I read this while in Italy and taking the trains for a large portion of the trip. Interesting and funny and informative. Good narration. Helpful information and gives a lot of insight into the Italian way of doing things.

Makes you want to eat your way through Italy,

Matt has a wonderful way of expressing the feeling of being in Italy. Discussing food, people, and travel he discusses so many cities and small-town so you get a real feel for the cuisine and culture. From Rome to Puglia, he describes the foods and the ingredients, but he shines on describing the people who make it happen,

If you like Italy, you will like this book. It is not a cookbook, but a cultural exploration.

It tells the story of household moving.

Tells the real story of long haul moving. Having a similar background of dropping out of college and driving tractor trailers I could easily relate to this story. Anecdotes tell of the good time and bad times that besiege the trucker. On occasion he has an attitude, but overall he brings the story to life. The thought of brining a baby grand piano into a home and having the stairway collapse is scary, but the way in which they handled it was fantastic. At times it could move a little faster, but a good read.

Broken up into segments that can be repeated, this helped me with some basic and advanced words. Great for beginner or lower intermediate learners. Not for grammar, but vocabulary.

The best reasons to visit Italy

Susan has a wonderful way of expressing her joy of visiting Italy. It is not the museums, buildings, etc., but the people you meet along the way. She brings the locations to life by describing the people she has encountered and their personalities. I think if you are planning to visit, or have been many times you will enjoy this book.

Memories of walking Rome

So many of the streets and sights in this book I have walked and seen. Interesting story and good narration. You can use this book as a guide to travel and enjoy Rome like a local.

Too loooong

Good story line. It is 15 hrs too long. Character development aside it needs editing. The final scenes took 4 hours to play out. This could be a five star read. See if there is an abridged version.

Lord of the Flies redux?

Good idea but plot does not stand up to common sense. Would someone really let Disney World be hit by a hurricane and not send in help? It Doug not compute. Do not waste your credit.
