A Tough Read
- De KP en 05-07-16
The Worst Book I've ever TRIED to listen to.
Revisado: 07-26-17
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Way too much needless vulgar profanity.
Has A Brief History of Seven Killings turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes-yes-yes
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I never would have read even as far as I tried to listen to.
Any additional comments?
I am not a prude but the F-bomb is often used 3/4 times per sentence. Over & over in most every conversation.

Historia
Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

Historia
When a solid-gold reliquary missing from a church in Belgium suddenly resurfaces in America, a young newspaperman begins to investigate the story. At first it seems like just another case of a treasure stolen during World War II that has resurfaced. But it soon becomes apparent that much more is at stake.

The writer should stick to writing.
Revisado: 04-22-15
What did you like best about The 13th Disciple? What did you like least?
The story line had it's merits but the voice reading it was mono tone and had little to no expression or dramatic difference in it. Twice I walked away just to remove my ears from the reader. The author has a good message at the end of the book IF you can make it that long.
Would you recommend The 13th Disciple to your friends? Why or why not?
No
What didn’t you like about Deepak Chopra’s performance?
He should not have been the narrator. He does not have the voice for it.
Do you think The 13th Disciple needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
???

Historia
Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare.
