Historia
On a hot August day in Paris, just over a century ago, a desperate guard burst into the office of the Director of the Louvre and shouted, La Joconde, c’est partie! The Mona Lisa, she’s gone! No one knew who was behind the heist. Was it an international gang of thieves? Was it an art-hungry American millionaire? Was it the young Spanish painter Pablo Picasso, who was about to remake the very art of painting?

Wow! So much fun and I learned a lot, too

I really enjoyed listening to this book! I thought I knew about the Mona Lisa, but I had no idea. I liked how the author interwove the story of the creation and the theft of the painting, and made it such a lighthearted read. Truly wonderful!

Historia
Vivian Gordon went out before midnight in a velvet dress and mink coat. Her body turned up the next morning in a desolate Bronx park, a dirty clothesline wrapped around her neck. At her stylish Manhattan apartment, detectives discovered notebooks full of names—businessmen, socialites, gangsters. And something else—a letter from an anti-corruption commission established by Governor Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

Excellent read!

I really enjoyed hearing about New York City in the 1920s and 1930s. Michael Wolraich brings that period to life as he interweaves the murder of Vivian Gordon and the corruption of Tammany Hall. I was shocked, surprised, and thoroughly entertained by this book. Definitely worth the listen!

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

I loved listening to Hail Mary, so much so that I listened to it a second time almost immediately and made my whole family listen to it with me. Great sci-fi and very entertaining!

Wonderful, tense, exciting, and heartfelt!

I loved the interaction of science and relationships between generations of women. Combining that with Soviet-era Russia and the experience of new immigrants to America made an interesting book truly fascinating.
