Historia
When it comes to action and adventure, every hero needs a good sidekick. Holmes has Watson, Batman has Robin, and Daniel has . . . Orrin. More like brothers than friends, they always have each other's backs. And as Daniel is the big, strong, handsome type, Orrin is more than happy to remain in his shadow at school, at parties, pretty much everywhere. Then things take a turn for the truly weird when a terrible accident catapults the pair into a world totally unlike their own, in which the rules of a role-playing game hold sway.

LGBT and privilege

Not to long before grown man hits on 17 year old boy. Instead of acting like a straight 17 year old boy would act,by telling said grown man to kick rocks, he instead blushes like a preteen schoolgirl. I mean really, so now I can't read anything without them trying to shove this mess down my throat. Authors like this create the people that they swear they're trying to fight. I don't need this in every facet of entertainment I try to enjoy.
Last thought~ I didn't really care about this community before, you know live and let live and all that crap. But I'm about to start caring, and I promise it won't be in the way these people want.

This was overall unsatisfying, also sppilers
Revisado: 07-02-23
How do you go through the entirety of a story just to have one of the main characters die with no resolution to their story arc. I started out likeing the story, It was dark and gritty,a little rapey. I didn't mind that. But like i said, the ending is just damned unsatisfying. If this is how this author writes his books,I think I'm done. there is no way this main character should have died. If anything, the other main character deserved his happily ever after, with the woman he loved. It's unfair to him. I understand deaths like this would probably happen in real life, but this is fantasy. Come on man.

I wish he had finished this.
Revisado: 11-14-22
I absolutely love this series, I have experienced lit rpg books before, and this is at the top of my list of must reads. Man, i wish he had finished this, and I hope he comes back to it. I found the bird the funniest character in this book. It had me laughing so hard I had to stop it at times just to breathe. Seeing as how I have to listen to this on audible, because I am a truck driver(and am supposed to stay on the road), it was difficult at times to keep my lane.I don't know why anyone would down rate this series. It's pretty good, in my opinion. I wish there was more 😪

He's headed to the top floor, on a mission to meet the goddess.

The main character is gay,for absolutely no reason
Revisado: 10-09-22
So normally books like this are right up my alley. However when you put things in a story that isn't for the story, rather social justice woke points, then it becomes a trash story. I don't understand how authors don't realize this, but the story comes first. Before diversity, before inclusion, before whatever else.
Now I'm not hating on lgbtq,i honestly don't care, other than it took me out of the story, mostly because it was just forced in there, and added nothing.
I am not gay. Thus I have no interest in gay relationships in entertainment, it's just not for me. I wish I would have known before I got this book, now i can't return it. So buyer beware I guess. I know I won't be reading anything from this author again. I also wonder why there isn't a lgbtq marker on this book?

Historia
Telryn "Trip" Yert has always been a little odd, with hunches that are too accurate to explain. Magic is feared and forbidden in Iskandia, so he's struggled his whole life to hide his eccentricities. As a boy, he was forced to watch his mother's execution. Her crime? Witchcraft. Understandably, Trip wants nothing to do with the power that lurks within him, always threatening to reveal itself. Instead, he dedicates himself to serving as an officer in the king's army, to battling pirates and imperial conquerors. He longs to become a soldier as respected and renowned as General Zirkander.

Woke feminist Garbage
Revisado: 08-20-22
I tried, I really tried. If this woman had spent more time story telling and less time virtue signaling it could have been an interesting story. As it stands I couldn't finish it. my BS meter only goes so far, manly women and feminine men. not my cup of tea. I wish I could return this book. From now on I'm going to have to really research books written by women before i purchase them.

Historia
The epic conclusion to David Dalglish's Seraphim series. What started as a small rebellion has grown to all-out war, with the four minor islands uniting under the call for independence. But Kael Skyborn no longer trusts the mysterious leader of their rebellion nor his disciples. Neither side seems willing to reveal the truth of the elemental prisms the Seraphim wield in battle or the blood that keeps the islands from crashing down to the ocean below.

Spoiler alert: In this story i thought the death of the main hero was completely unnecessary. My main point of contention is that,Bree should have lived. Her and her brother should have found a way to defeat the shadow together. It was just to sad, after all she had already sacrificed, she especially should have lived. The only reason for 4 out of 5 stars instead of 5 out of 5.

William Kidd to command the first expedition to Mars in the late 1600s, he proved that space travel was both possible and profitable. Now, one century later, a plantation in a flourishing British colony on Mars is home to Arabella Ashby, a young woman who is perfectly content growing up in the untamed frontier.

Weakest most ridiculous story I have ever read
Revisado: 01-01-17
This would have been better as a porno novel.
The lead character is not a heroine she's a twit, and not a very smart one. She basically fails at everything she tries to do,including her main objective. The only reason the ending isn't tragic is because of fate. This was just awful. If your going to write a book about a heroine, you don't make her seem like a big crybaby, and you have to let her win every once in a while.

Historia
In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

oh I really did try
Revisado: 07-03-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
What could have made it a 4 or 5 star book, hmmm perhaps if it wasn't a romance novel. I really did try to give this a chance. I was hearing great things about it, but I think it's more geared towards teenage girls really. After about chapter 11, I just couldn't take any more, I had to stop. I am so glad I didn't get the movie from amazon instant video, I would have been just disappointed.
What could Veronica Roth have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Well like I said it wasn't really geared towards my liking particularly because I'm not a teenage girl.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
There was nothing wrong with the narration, just the story.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I couldn't Finnish the book, so.... no
Any additional comments?
Not really.
