Remember your black dress . . . .
Revisado: 12-30-17
If you could sum up Nine Women, One Dress in three words, what would they be?
I use Audible for driving or cleaning. I like easy-to-follow audiobooks - performance and story need to keep my attention. This is one of those books. Loads of fun. I remember when I first graduated college and bought that little black dress from Bloomies. Smile. I loved following this dress around NYC. Not complicated. Good performance. And, a story that makes you feel good. I've listened to it twice.

Love, Love, Love this story . . . .

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I use Audible for driving or cleaning. I like easy to follow stories. While this story is poignant, it engrosses you and you will want more. I absolutely recommend this audiobook. In fact, this audiobook made me want to learn more about Lisa Wingate, buy the book, and research the references Lisa used for this book. I was saddened, maddened, and thankful to learn about this time and I wanted to know more. For me, this audiobook brought forward many emotions, tears, and smiles. Most of all - it made me want to learn more.

Love the entire Big Stone Gap series . . .
Revisado: 02-25-16
What made the experience of listening to Big Cherry Holler the most enjoyable?
The characters - taking you through day-to-day life with people I am growing to admire.
What about Adriana Trigiani’s performance did you like?
I actually bought the audio book - not read by Adriana - and, I had to buy another one with her reading. She makes the difference for me. I know there are reviews about her accent or being slow, but I feel her voice & her passion. Love her!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
All of these books make me laugh and smile often. I love Iva Lou, Freeta, and Pearl! I love the stories of these women - the strength and beauty of friendship and commitment to marriage. Life is not easy and I love hearing how these women are there for each other and I love that Adriana shows a woman and a man dealing with pain and finding love, again, and again. There is actually so much I love about this book series - I hope you do, too.

Love, Love, Love the Big Stone Gap stories!
Revisado: 02-25-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Big Stone Gap to be better than the print version?
I love both the book and audio book of Big Stone Gap. I bought the version with Adriana Trigiani reading the book and feel she is incredible. After first reading this book, I couldn't wait for more. And, now, one day, I hope to visit Big Stone Gap. I am fascinated with both Appalachia and Italy. It is hard to review one book without wanting to reference the entire story. I can tell you this . . . the characters and story make you feel good. Clean, simple, and make you smile. This book makes you feel a part of these peoples' lives. Good and fun read & listen!
Have you listened to any of Adriana Trigiani’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
All of Adriana's performances for the Big Stone Gap series have been great!
Who was the most memorable character of Big Stone Gap and why?
I love them all, but I have to say - Iva Lou and Fleeta get me laughing!

Tough to take Molly . . . .
Revisado: 02-25-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Molly's character was agonizing - especially as an adult. And, given she is the main character - I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. Too painful to listen to such a self-centered and self-righteous person - Nora puts it best . . . loose cannon. She absolutely kills me. Maybe more time on the family healing and dealing with Graham. And, more time on 'pretending to dance'. I did appreciate the concept of 'pretending to dance'
What do you think your next listen will be?
