Bryan Cranston landed his first role at seven, when his father, a struggling actor and director, cast him in a United Way commercial. Soon Bryan was haunting the local movie theater, memorizing and reenacting favorite scenes with his older brother. Acting was clearly the boy's destiny - until one day his father disappeared. Suddenly destiny took a backseat to survival. Seeking something more stable, perhaps subconsciously trying to distance himself from his absent father, Cranston decided on a career in law enforcement.

Acting as a craft and a damn good life to match. Very few can do that magic trick.

I loved the book. It was incredibly clever and a wonderful device to take us through his life using the different “roles” he’s played along the way. At various times his “roles” are roles that we all play as human beings in our lives. And they are poignant and important and funny, and they inform his artistic life. Then he shares about his acting roles, they are the actual dramatic or comedic characters that he gets cast in as an actor. Again, loved the book! Thank you Mr. Bryan Cranston for sharing your journey and process with us. I think he did an amazing job of sharing his true experience, his insight and wisdom, illuminating what is surely a tough road. He’s honest and personal sharing about his family gave a great meeting to the whole book as well. I’m happy to see a man who stuck to the course and found something true. Thank you so much Mr. Cranston :-) The best of luck to you as you continue on!

Wow! What a fantastic work. I know personally that sitting down to write a challenging and seeing projects like this through takes cleverness, thoughtfulness, and hard work. It took some research to you can tell from all the details. I’m really impressed with the writing I thought Mr. Tom Hanks did a phenomenal job. I’m really impressed Mr. Hanks. :-) I myself am pursuing writing and I really appreciate the way that you put this together and shared with us. You’re incredible insight into the movie making business. And your insightful life hacks were pretty cool as well. I really loved it. I was even moved to tears a few times really great job. Thank you for writing this book. Write another one!
