Entertaining but
Revisado: 01-24-25
I read 19 of the 20 books. Once you start, the books don’t conclude. So you must read the next. I started to get #20, but the reviews said the conclusion was disappointing and left one hanging, to possibly force readers to buy the next series. I like closers and happy endings. So, I did not get #20. Also, I think the books are overpriced, but if you have kindle unlimited, you can read for free.

Page turner BUT
Revisado: 08-15-24
Story kept my interest. However, I kept being dumbfounded at how the main character repeatedly did not do things any smart person in her position should have done in regards to giving certain information to authorities and her inept treatment of those trying to kill her. Also, she was supposed to be a strong woman but she cried way too much.

A battalion of Serbs has been senselessly murdered in Kosovo, and the Green Berets stand accused. Now, Major Sean Drummond, a top Army lawyer, is assigned to investigate this unspeakable atrocity. But of course, no one saw anything. Drummond gets consistently suspicious depositions from all of the Green Berets: Supposedly pursued by Serb soldiers, they left the engagement with wounded Serbs firing at them, and no one can explain the number of deaths.

Never held my attention
Revisado: 01-06-24
I am a combat veteran and found the story lacking. It did not make me feel the horrific crime the author wanted to portray and the need to prosecute these men. It bored me and I struggled making it to the end. I also had problems with the alcoholic actions of the main character.

Cinder Shade’s life begins on a fateful afternoon at the bottom of a well where he awakens, bruised, battered, and bereft of all memory. His only understanding is a driving imperative to protect those who can’t defend themselves and become a warrior worthy of the name. Revisado: 07-29-23
After listening to over 40 tortuous chapters, over half of my previous book, hoping it would get better. I switched to this and my pleasure went from dark night to bright day. I was captured immediately and could not put it down. I’ve never read this author, but I’ll be reading more of his books.

Good story
Revisado: 07-15-23
The main reason for giving it 4 stars is that the beginning was boring, doing nothing to capture my interest. I was considering deleting it from my library until it captured my interest a little later. The story is worth reading. It toyed with all my emotions.

Historia
The 1950s are on the horizon, and Archer is in dire need of a fresh start after a nearly fatal detour in Poca City. So Archer hops on a bus and begins the long journey out west to California, where rumor has it there is money to be made if you’re hard-working, lucky, criminal - or all three. Along the way, Archer stops in Reno, where a stroke of fortune delivers him a wad of cash and an eye-popping blood-red 1939 Delahaye convertible - plus a companion for the final leg of the journey, an aspiring actress named Liberty Callahan who is planning to try her luck in Hollywood.

Revisado: 06-08-23
I loved the story, becoming immersed. But, the ending ruined it all. I feel really down because of it. I do not think I listen to another of this author’s books until I see he doesn’t do this again.

Historia
In 2017, a routine network television investigation led to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood’s most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family.

Boring
Revisado: 02-28-23
Made it into chapter 7 before giving up. Many characters. Jumbled. All talks about today’s major popular political and media characters. The news industry. I could not get a handle on the main theme and where the book was headed. I kept trodding along hoping something would hook me and motivate me to continue reading. When I had enough of my time wasted, I decided to find a better book.
