Historia
After a case of mistaken identity, Jessica finds herself in a massive confusion kerfuffle. She has spent her whole life paralyzed by the fantasy of Beau and her assumptions of Duane's disdain; therefore she's unprepared for the reality that is Duane's insatiable interest, as well as his hot hands and hot mouth and hotter looks. Not helping Jessica's muddled mind and good girl sensibilities, Duane seems to have gotten himself in trouble with the local biker gang, the Iron Order.

Beautiful Ending to a Lovely Story
Revisado: 03-02-25
I aspire to be like Jessica James when I grow up.
Jessica is probably more rational and logical than anyone I know, especially when dealing with all the BS that people were saying and doing. She stood her ground and fought for their love even when her man was giving up. Instead of yelling or getting mad when others would have, she chose to understand and forgive.
She also didn't fall for BS lies. She started to spiral and then went "wait a minute, that doesn't make sense." Most importantly she put that BSer in her place and then WALKED AWAY. No yelling, no fighting. Just a simple I'm not falling for this nonsense and out she goes.
Also, I love that the ML ends up being the romantic one. The fact that he held onto his high school crush and dreamed of what he would do if given the chance to be with her and then made it happen was just the best! Then she turns around and says you're not alone in this and fights harder than him to make sure they get their HEA. Perfection. Loved it!
On a side note, I would like to officially request a Winston boy of my own. Their momma raised them right.

Despite being King Lucroy Moony's second-in-command, Leon McMillan's second life has become dangerously monotonous. For a vampire, boredom is as deadly as a stake to the heart. Three hundred years of existence has taken a mental toll—one that will eventually lead Leon into the sun's deadly embrace. Leon needs a life raft; he just never imagined it in the form of a pushy pixie.

Beautiful series
Revisado: 02-02-25
I love this series! I can visualize each character so easily and they are all so beautiful and unique. I'm glad we got more of all the other characters in this bookas well. I absolutely love Ray and Wendel, so it was nice to get a glimpse of how their story continued.
I have to say, I do miss the sexy scenes. The first few books had full sexy time scenes and I feel like they even added to the story. I like the books either way, but I do miss the extra spice the first few books had.

Historia
For August, Ryker, and Steve, the alpha werewolves in question, there's nothing ridiculous or confusing at all about wanting Dylan. The human smells like the word mate incarnate, and he's so achingly perfect that the idea of not having him is too terrible to even consider. Sweet, eager to please, and unexpectedly funny, he's everything they could ever want in a mate. With three of them and only one of Dylan, August, Ryker, and Steve are going to have to figure out how to make this work. Someone has to be left out in the cold, and no one wants it to be them.

Dylan is one brave man. I am not so brave...
Revisado: 11-14-24
First, the narrators were amazing. The voice for August was off putting and kind of creepy, but overall they did great! Second, I wish there was more development of their relationships. It felt like they just jumped right into the deep end. Although, what it is lacking in romance it more than makes up for in sex scenes. I learned I am not into this kind of bdsm and that is my issue, not the author's. The breath play and brutality was too much for me. It made me feel claustrophobic and turned me off quite often. I found myself wanting to drag Dylan away at times, but again that's my fault and I should have paid more attention to what I was getting into with this book.
For me the story didn't feel well rounded. The alphas all had similar kinks and they were all so aggressive towards Dylan, yes I know he liked it, but I felt like it was missing a softer touch. I think I was expecting Steve to be more of a protector and caregiver (especially for aftercare) for Dylan when he eventually joins them, but he's worse than the other two. It just felt like Dylan could use a relief and I was hoping Steve would be that. They demand so much from Dylan, but I don't feel like they gave enough in return. Perhaps if there had been more romance and care it could have balanced out the hard-core sex scenes a little more.
I also didn't like how much they pushed Dylan to do things when he said he didn't want to. It's not like they didn't listen when he said no, but they would push it. I also would have liked to see more action between the alpha's. I get it they're all alpha's and don't want to bottom, but they all love each other too. With them being different levels of alpha (?) I expected them to be more sexual and more aggressive with each other as well as with Dylan, but they barely did anything with each other. Maybe they could have tried some of the stuff they do with Dylan, but with each other where the more dominant alpha would be in control. It would take some of the pressure off of Dylan anyway. Just a thought.
Overall good story. I loved the different view of pack life and that Dylan is a secret badass when necessary. It was good seeing Dylan grow and learn to stand up for himself.

Good, but it could have been better
Revisado: 10-28-24
The male narrator is great, but the female narrator was too dramatic. Normally I wouldn't object to a dramatic performance, but she was overly dramatic constantly, even when it wasn't called for. I could overlook this, but her volume was all over the place. She would be really loud one moment and then practically whispering the next, so i was constantly adjusting the volume and then backtracking when i couldn't hear her all of a sudden.
The story was a unique and interesting twist on Beauty and the Beast. My only issue is that there wasn't much struggle. There were obstacles to overcome, but when it came down to it everything was resolved way too easily. It made what could have been an exciting book kind of boring.
I'm not giving up. I'm going to read the second book, but I'm going to READ it instead of going through Audible since the narrators are the same. Hopefully the next one is even better.

Moving to a new town to start college, where I can try to be normal. Or at least pretend I am. I’m willing to fake it, because I’m tired of trying to get better. Tired of spilling my guts to doctors and therapists to understand why I’ve heard voices since I was a child.

Revisado: 10-18-24
Great narration. the characters are amazing! I just wish the author would have delved a little deeper into the psych part of it all with the voices. That could have been played up more. As it is, the voices barely do anything for the story. It is still a good romance and I love all the ups and downs of the characters and their relationship as it progresses.

Historia
Pixies are supposed to be petite, beautifully lithe creatures with gossamer wings. Sporting luscious, ombre pink hair and fluttering pink wings, Phil meets two out of three of those criteria. At over six feet tall, no one would dare call Phil petite. As a home-and-hearth pixie, Phil yearns to find a home and family he can bond to. When no one's willing to hire a pixie of his stature, Phil is forced to find work elsewhere. Turns out, pixies make terrible bouncers.

Good story, but not a romance.
Revisado: 03-18-24
This is a good book that I'm glad I used a credit on. It was an easy listen and I found myself listening all day, rather than just in the car. It was a little predictable, but the unique take on the supernatural made up for it. The characters are great and you can't help but love Phil.
The only thing that fell short was the romance aspect. This didn't take away from the story much, but it felt like an afterthought. It felt like it wasn't originally supposed to be a romance and then after it was written the author went back and added in a comment here and there and then tacked on a bit of a sexy moment at the end. I won't lie, I mostly bought this for the romance. I like romance, but this felt forced and it probably would have been better without it.
This is still a good book and I'm continuing on to the next one. The little bit of flirtation with Peaches and a character I will leave unnamed towards the end of this book seemed more natural than the main characters, so I'm hopeful the next book will be even better. I just hope that Phil and the rest of the characters I've grown to love make an appearance in Peaches' story.

Historia
Concerned that technology is about to chase mythological creatures out into the open (how long can Sasquatch stay hidden from Google maps?), the League for Interspecies Cooperation is sending Jillian to Louisiana on a fact-finding mission. While the League hopes to hold on to secrecy for a little bit longer, they're preparing for the worst in terms of human reactions. They need a plan, so they look to Mystic Bayou, a tiny town hidden in the swamp where humans and supernatural residents have been living in harmony for generations.

We're extremely close, stuck so deep inside a Jim-and-Pam-style friendzone everyone at work assumes we're a couple - that is until one day, word spreads through the teacher's lounge that he's single. Fair game. Suddenly, it's open season on Ian. He should be reveling in all the newfound attention, but to our mutual surprise, the only attention he seems to want is mine. He's turning our formerly innocent nightly chats into X-rated phone calls. Our playful banter sports a new, dangerous edge.

Laugh Out Loud Funny
Revisado: 09-13-19
Overall I loved this book! It was really funny and had some good romantic moments. Unfortunately it became pretty annoying about halfway through when the story started to push the romantic factor. SPOILER ALERT. The beginning of the book was all about how Sam has liked Ian since the moment they met, but when he finally makes a move she loses it! Which is fine for a moment, but she freaks out for quite awhile. Then everything happens so quickly, which is kind of fun, but it feels like something was skipped over.

With the first season wrapped, the reality-show PI is feeling the pressure to make the next one an even bigger success. It seems the town is harboring an arsonist, and all the smoldering signs point to the same culprit: her cousin Dixie.
