Historia
The first serious external threat to the mafia's existence in America comes from U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, who repeatedly expresses his desire to eradicate organized crime in America. Kennedy unleashes the full force of the U.S. Justice Department to the apparent dismay of long-time FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover. The mafia's unforgiving response is executed by Louisiana don Carlos Marcello along with Florida don Santo Trafficante, who together take aim at the attorney general's brother, the president of the United States.

Historia
An extraordinarily ambitious work, Republic has made important contributions to many branches of modern philosophy. The work unfolds as a series of conversations in which participants set out a number of different theories of justice, and then imagine how these theories might become reality within the political structure of a city. In examining justice, Plato investigates an enormous range of questions in the areas of ethics, politics, and even the nature of existence itself.

Macat doesn’t respect the intellect of it’s audience
Revisado: 04-09-18
A lot of fluff...very repetitive and offensively basic. Though it’s around an hour and 40 min, it contains about 10 minutes of real content. They must have repeated the Republic is an important text for political philosophy 12-15 times without giving any insight...just it’s important.

On Anarchism

Historia
On Anarchism provides the reasoning behind Noam Chomsky's fearless lifelong questioning of the legitimacy of entrenched power. In these essays, Chomsky redeems one of the most maligned ideologies, anarchism, and places it at the foundation of his political thinking. Chomsky's anarchism is distinctly optimistic and egalitarian. Moreover, it is a living, evolving tradition that is situated in a historical lineage; Chomsky's anarchism emphasizes the power of collective, rather than individualist, action.

Such a misleading title
Revisado: 02-25-18
The book is called “On Anarchism”, but it’s really just a hodgepodge of disparate sections that so very loosely relate to notions of human freedom and modern forms of enslavement. The longest section is Chomsky’s historical account of the Spanish Civil war and why the Anarchists were ultimately unsuccessful...it’s honestly a tedious, boring, and rabbling account that feels more like propaganda and conspiratorial than anything useful or informing.

Historia
Was Christopher Columbus's voyage to the Americas in 1492 the most important event in the history of the world? Professor Eakin's provocative answer is a resounding "Yes" - as he presents his case in an intriguing series of 24 lectures. These thoughtful lectures will remind you that when Columbus completed his voyage, he found a people unlike any he had ever known, living in a land unmentioned in any of the great touchstones of Western knowledge. You'll learn how the European world, animated by the great dynamic forces of the day, Christianity and commercial capitalism, reacted to Columbus's discovery.

What an amazing lecture
Revisado: 10-17-17
The structure and depth of this lecture is hands down one of the best. If I had any criticism it would be I would have liked a little more attention paid to Ango and Franco America with respect to Latin America. The last three chapters leave something to be desired, but overall this is a masterpiece!

Prof. Solomon is a great lecturer!!
Revisado: 08-26-17
What did you love best about No Excuses: Existentialism and the Meaning of Life?
Prof. Solomon is very well versed with all 5 philosophers (Camus, Sartre, Heidegger, Kierkegaard, and Nietzsche). Passionate, articulate, and very clear!! I'd recommend getting all 3 of his audibles :)
What other book might you compare No Excuses: Existentialism and the Meaning of Life to and why?
