It’s all about the performance
Revisado: 03-10-25
The performance is the thing that takes the minutiae of what is essentially a guidebook interesting. There really is no story. It’s substance material that adds to the mythology. A deeper dive with some backstory “historical” incidents would have made this perfect.

Hit or miss
Revisado: 02-19-23
Some of the stories are great some very poor. As a while it has no significance to how important the movie was. It adds some twigs to the mighty tree but there are much better stories within this era.

Stay away
Revisado: 02-19-23
This book is a reflection of the sequels. The story is disjointed fragmented and feels like a mirror to what the movies were. It was tough to get through.

Finally a story that feels like star wars
Revisado: 01-12-23
I was reluctant to begin this book. My family and I recently returned from a trip on the Halcyon. We enjoyed it so much that I wanted to re live the experience but in the OT era. I was thrilled to read a novel that story is about the adventures in a world that we all love; not a memorandum on what character is now queer and more inclusive then they ever have been.
The story fills in some nice gaps after the second death stars destruction and the ongoing threat of the empire.
Once the story progresses through some of the romance, the story really picks up. It was hard to put it down after I was 1/3 into the book.
Highly recommended for OT Star Wars fans!!!

Would like more seedy underbelly
Revisado: 12-11-22
I was hoping for more of a scum and villainy story. Although there was a under surface of scoundrels; this is really a teen age love story. Well written, but not what I was hoping to immerse myself in.

A must listen!!
Revisado: 08-22-22
When you are lucky enough to have Sam Witwer read a Mail novel, you have to pinch yourself. This book exemplifies the travesty of modern Lucas film story telling pushing social ideology imbedded in weak stories. Shadow Hunter is an epic tale that showcases Maul prior to Ep 1. The story displays the extension of Lucas’s world building rooted in suspense and intrigue. Adding Sam in the mix makes this feel like it came straight from GL. Most excellent!!

Have you heard that language is violence and that science is sexist? Have you read that certain people shouldn't practice yoga? Or been told that being obese is healthy, that there is no such thing as biological sex, or that only White people can be racist? Are you confused by these ideas, and do you wonder how they have managed to challenge the logic of Western society? In this probing volume, Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay document the evolution of the dogma that informs these ideas, from its coarse origins in French postmodernism to its refinement within activist academic fields.

Revisado: 05-18-21
This book gives an amazing academic break down of the pervasive ideologies that are eroding our society and republic. The information will arm you with information to allow you to engage in discussions of the woke ideals with our children and colleagues. With the requirement of corporations imposing sensitivity and diversity training while major media, sports and movies become more woke, convincing people how this is counter productive for social justice is essential.

Revisado: 09-28-20
Although the stories aren’t new the performances are amazing. Sam Witwer performance is career best while James Arnold Taylor’s talents as a voice artist comes through showing why he’s the best in the business. This is the equivalent of getting Harrison Ford, Mark Hammil and Carrie Fisher read Star Wars content to you. Amazing.
