Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I found this book to be very entertaining. I enjoyed it and was sad to hear it end, lol. I wasn't sure about the narrator at first but his voice blended in and the story was interesting enough that I didn't mind. Good book, I'm sad now that I have to try and find another book just as good now.

Any additional comments?
At times this book gets lost in the details; very detailed explanations for everyday life but Barbara Rosenblat made the story come to life. She is so talented, each character had life, each one seemed real an not one emotion was missed I believe. I was so excited for my daily walk so I could listen to her narrate this book. One reader noted that her voice did not match up with the age of the main character but I'd disagree; her performance was so good that it didn't matter. I'm sad I finished this book.

Historia
These 36 lectures tell the remarkable story of a tumultuous thousand-year period in the history of England. Dominated by war, conquest, and the struggle to balance the stability brought by royal power with the rights of the governed, it was a period that put into place the foundation of much of the world we know today. As you journey through this largely chronological narrative you'll see key themes emerge, including the assimilation of successive waves of invaders, the tense relationship between kings and the nobility, and the constant battles over money and taxation.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend this book. I enjoyed the subject and the narrator's voice, inflection and enthusiasm. I will re-listen to this one because it took me so long to finish it. I enjoyed every minute.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Story of Medieval England: From King Arthur to the Tudor Conquest?
The stories of the Lancastrian and Yorkist dynasties (the war of the roses).
Which character – as performed by Professor Jennifer Paxton – was your favorite?
I enjoyed Professor Paxton's entire narraration.

I was disappointed
Revisado: 04-19-14
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I would have liked it more if there wasn't so much archeology in it. If the professor narrarating it would pause his words at the right time (he spoke like William Shatner, with a tedious Canadian accent). I would have tolerated the parts of the lecture that had little to do with the title of the book if he spoke normal.
Would you ever listen to anything by The Great Courses again?
Absolutely! This one should have been done by someone better. The lecture went off track. It should be reorganized,
Would you be willing to try another one of Professor Scott MacEachern’s performances?
Hell No!
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Only the promise of learning about the origin of civilization.

Please refund me for this.
