This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Be careful starting this series
Revisado: 02-19-19
I feel like I need to warn you guys if you are thinking of starting this series. First warning: The series is not complete and there is no telling when Rothfuss will finish it. I’ve read tons of reviews on this series and the common theme seems to be that readers are so upset that it’s taken so long for Rothfuss to complete the final book. As of today 02-19-19 there is still no release date for book 3.
2nd warning: once you read/listen to a book like this it’s hard for all other books to measure up. Patrick Rothfuss is a master story teller. Even if you don’t like the fantasy genre there is a good chance you will still love this book. Rothfuss does such an amazing job of developing his characters. You will find yourself befriending some characters and despising others. Sometimes I feel bad writing bad reviews on other books. Once you hear a story like this all others seem drab in comparison. So you have been warned. No telling when you will ever hear the end of this story and you will be hard pressed to find a more addictive story ever again. I hope you guys love this book as much as I did.

Such a shame
Revisado: 05-29-18
First book was a lot of fun. Now the story is nothing but sex. I’m not a prude by any means but when you purchase a book like this you don’t expect half of it to be an orgy. The sex scenes aren’t even that good. You’d expect stories like that to be told by high school kids in the locker room. Narrator does a great job and the story line itself is addictive. It’s such a shame the author had to ruin a great story with adolescent fantasies.

Great book
Revisado: 08-10-17
The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars overall is because it jumps scenes too quickly. It's annoying at times. Other than that I loved it. Performance is top notch and the story is addictive.

Historia
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Reviews were good so I decided what the heck
Revisado: 08-04-17
I wasn't sure I'd like a book from the sci-fi outer space genre but I've got to say I enjoyed this book very much. Chances are good I'll continue the series. It's a tee tiny bit slow but after a couple hours the story picks up and you get hooked. Definitely worth the credit.

Don't waste a credit
Revisado: 08-01-17
Ok... where do I even start? I've learned to pay attention to the reviews on most books. I bought this book because I love almost anything post apocalypse related AND because the reviews were so good. I have no idea how or why this series is rated so high. There are several narrators in this series and only one or two are good. How in the world does someone find this many crappy narrators for one project. When I hear these narrators I think of a second grade class learning how to read. That being said.... if somehow you can get passed the horrible narration without wanting to ram an ice pick in your ear you now have to deal with a bad story line. I don't really know how to explain it. The story is not engaging at all. I found myself having to jump back entire chapters simply because the story is so boring. I find myself daydreaming about random stuff and once the chapter advances I realize I have no idea what just happened. So I'd start the chapter again only to realize I didn't miss a damn thing. The writing is very simple and lacks any depth at all. To top it all off when I actually force myself to pay atten

Narration was horrible
Revisado: 05-13-17
Ok guys... I love audio books but this is a perfect example of what happens when you take a slightly above average story and butcher it with a piss poor narrator. I can't believe this performance passed quality control. The only way I could even finish this book was to put the speed setting on 1.25X. Even then it was only bearable

But when a god falls to a human blade, the balance of power between humans and those they thought were gods changes forever. Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer; Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom; and Persephone, who must overcome personal tragedy to lead her people. Good Book. Narrator not so much
Revisado: 12-30-16
I enjoyed this book very much. The narrator kinda drags along. I almost stopped and returned this book then all of a sudden I had a fantastic idea...... I set the narration speed to 1.25 and BAM problem solved. After that it was great. If you buy this book and find yourself wanting to ram an ice pick in both ears.... don't give up. The story is addictive. Just raise the narration speed up a bit and you will be fine.

Narration was pretty bad
Revisado: 11-28-16
Story was ok. Not great but ok. One little thing... might be just me... the author over used the word amazing. Everything was described as AMAZING. just kind of got on my nerves. This book was a good example of how you can take a mediocre story and make it totally sick by hiring a shitty narrator. I'm returning this one. Don't waste a credit guys
