Refreshingly Different

I’ve read/listened to literally hundreds of post apocalyptic fiction stories. I’ve written very few reviews. So many run together as they all follow the same plot and formula. This series stands out as a true original. Thank you to the author for a fun and genuinely different story. The narrator did an excellent job as usual.

Honest Transparent Walk Through the Camp’s Marriage with Advice for Other Couples

This was a refreshing book from a power couple. It was an incredibly transparent look at what they’ve done right and where they made mistakes in their marriage. It’s packed with advice and based on scripture. It has humor and sadness. It’s real. After listening to this I ordered the print version so my wife and I can go back through it as a couple. Highly recommend. Been married 16 years and found plenty of value while enjoying a behind the scenes look at Jeremy Camp’s family life.

Great Story

This was a great listen. The narration was fantastic. The language was over the top inappropriate and unfortunate. Why the author felt the need to add so much fowl language is beyond me. It was distracting from an otherwise great listen.

Great narrators terrible stories

I enjoy Nick Offerman and several other narrators chosen but the stories are boing profane and pointless. I couldn’t finish the book and am returning it.

Another Eye Opener

Forstchen has a great knack for writing historical science fiction. I’ve enjoyed all of his books published in the last several years. While this book focuses on the terrifying concept of the 48 hours leading up to a coronal mass ejection or CME, I didn’t find the story as terrifying as the One Second After series. I highly recommend this book.

Good Story Bad Narration Editing

The story was good. It’s typical Crichton with loads of technical explanations for the how of the story backbone. I feel the narrator did a great job but the studio did a terrible job in post editing. You hear every lip lick and saliva slurp he makes. It’s borderline gross at times. There are several long pauses where he has to catch his breath and lick his lips. I would assume every narrator does this but it gets cleaned up in post. Not this time.

Phenomenal Narrator

The book was great but Mr. Degas made this a wonderful listen. Great voices and truly a suspenseful book. Highly recommend.

I’ve really enjoyed Mr Cranston’s work over the years and this was a nice insight “on parts” to his life and artistic process. I highly recommend this book to those with an interest in acting or the life of Bryan.

Important but Dull

The material covered in this book is important and helpful in growth strategy. However, most of the overall concept is covered in the first section of the book. After that the book becomes so monotonous. The detail is very specific. For the business analyst or post grad student this would be great reference material. Reading the book cover to cover is painful. The narrator does a good job, considering the material.
