Historia
By July 1914, the ties between Kezia Marchant and Thea Brissenden, friends since girlhood, have become strained - by Thea's passionate embrace of women's suffrage, and by the imminent marriage of Kezia to Thea's brother, Tom, who runs the family farm. When Kezia and Tom wed, just a month before war is declared between Britain and Germany, Thea's gift to Kezia is a book on household management - a veiled criticism of the bride's prosaic life to come.

The truth often hurts
Revisado: 12-01-24
Well written but don’t expect the same connection with the characters and the storyline as a Maise Dobbs novel. I had to restart it several times before I decided to stick with it and listen to the whole book. The ending was depressing and I have to say I am glad it’s a stand alone book. Bring on more Maise Dobbs please !! I cried when i finished Book 18 !

The latest murder mystery solved by the Sullivan six is full of twists and turns and a cast of characters. A fun easy listen with our favorite detectives . Can’t wait for the next book already

Narrator is unbearable
Revisado: 01-02-23
If you have listened to the first two Evan Ryder novels and enjoyed them narrated by Lauren Fortgang; this narration by Jennie Litt is just horrible. The characters voices are so fake and painful that I’m not sure I will finish the 3rd book. This narrator makes Ben Butler sound like a whiner and Evan Ryder like a sing song teenager and Isabella Lowe’s Israeli accent is very poor. Very disappointing. Why would any audio producer find this acceptable ?

Historia
Mitch Rapp has worked for a number of presidents over his career, but Anthony Cook is unlike any he’s encountered before. Cunning and autocratic, he feels no loyalty to America’s institutions and is distrustful of the influence Rapp and CIA director Irene Kennedy have in Washington.

Written like a cliff note version
Revisado: 11-21-21
I am a Mitch Rapp fan and Vince Flynn fan. But the last two books by Kyle Mills are showing a downward trend in story content. This book was like a cliff note version of a Mitch Rapp tale. Very little character development, very little story line between supporting characters and Mitch, and ultimately the traitor reveal and what follows is lame given the history of the person with Mitch. Horrible ending. I felt it was the authors own betrayal of this individual’s character. Pretty bad if I’m done listening in 2 days time. Ps normally love George’s voice work but he sounded like he needed oxygen himself.
