Historia
The revised and updated edition of Lt. Col. Dave Grossman's modern classic about the psychology of combat, hailed by the Washington Post as "an illuminating account of how soldiers learn to kill and how they live with the experiences of having killed". In World War II, only 15 to 20 percent of combat infantry were willing to fire their rifles. In Korea, about 50 percent. In Vietnam, the figure rose to more than 90 percent. The good news is that most soldiers are loath to kill.

The improvement of the soldier over the decades and the price they paid for this advance in training was shocking. Love how the quotes were sited and the reader brought the topic to life.

Historia
An "epoch-defining book" (The Guardian) and "this generation’s Silent Spring" (The Washington Post), The Uninhabitable Earth is both a travelogue of the near future and a meditation on how that future will look to those living through it - the ways that warming promises to transform global politics, the meaning of technology and nature in the modern world, the sustainability of capitalism and the trajectory of human progress. The Uninhabitable Earth is also an impassioned call to action.

The author thinks a lot of of himself
Revisado: 03-20-24
Authors seem to cherry pick data that would support his argument. I myself fall somewhere in the middle, but this book fall short and providing anything but antidotal evidence. I had a lot of hope for it, but it did disappoint.

Historia
The Supreme Court endorses terrorists' rights, flag burning, and importing foreign law. Is that in the Constitution? You're right: it's not. But these days the Constitution is no restraint on our out-of-control Supreme Court. The Court imperiously strikes down laws and imposes new ones purely on its own arbitrary whims. Even though liberals like John Kerry are repeatedly defeated at the polls, the majority on the allegedly "conservative" Supreme Court reflects their views and wields absolute power.

I can only hope this is easy to install. I can appreciate the author’s desire to share information share sources and methods of data collection. It does seem exhausted and I commend the authors for this. As for entertainment, this is not the audio book for me.
