Historia
It's 1969 in New York City's Lower East Side, and word has spread of the arrival of a mystical woman, a traveling psychic who claims to be able to tell anyone the day they will die. The Gold children - four adolescents on the cusp of self-awareness - sneak out to hear their fortunes, A sweeping novel of remarkable ambition and depth, The Immortalists probes the line between destiny and choice, reality and illusion, this world and the next. It is a deeply moving testament to the power of story, the nature of belief, and the unrelenting pull of familial bonds.

Two words.

Terrible narration.
I was told this was a good book, so I got the audible and I must say that I can't get into it. The narration ruins it for me. I am going to check out the hard back, or search for different narrators.

Most people never tap the 10 percent of their potential for memory. The problem is not with your memory. The problem is with the "Filing System" your brain currently uses to store and retrieve memory items. Change the filing system and you'll double and even triple your memory comprehension. You do not need to be smart to develop a superhuman memory.

Not only is this book just "talking" about memory improvement instead of giving concrete material, the man who is narrating about memory improvement is mispronouncing words and stuttering. It really makes it a struggle to listen to the already non informative waste of money.

Sergio Magaña is one of the few spokespeople to share Mexico's ancient spiritual teachings with the rest of the world. A core element of these teachings, which have been closed to outsiders until now, is dreaming practices. In this audio program, Sergio guides the listener through three exercises, so that they can experience this powerful technique in their own life: Dream Planting for Healing and Abundance; Dream Planting for Healing Ancestral Patterns, Blood Line and Addictions; and Lucid Dreaming Night for Creating Your Destiny.

Not really what I was looking for.
Revisado: 05-19-20
I've been reading all of the Toltec books I can find today, I am very interested in the culture and can't get enough. Dreaming, and their subconscious control is one I am very interested in. This book is just the exercises. Not that I should be surprised, but it's the same exercise repeated with different animals for an hour straight. The whole book can be summarized, and rewritten into a sentence or two..
"Repeat this chant with this animal, for this healing property till you fall asleep. Here are the list of animals. END"
Instead it literally repeats counting to 13 while you breath, and repeating the same sentence with a different animal for 45 min. I am happy to know what to chant now.... I guess? However I am disappointed with the lack of content. Why do we say these things, how does this work, why does this work, how has this effected the person who wrote this, what is his background? I only bought the book because I've answered most of these questions from the previous 5 I've read today about Toltec, which in turn piqued my curiosity.
It doesn't get into how to enter a deep lucid state till about 50 min. I will give this a try now that the chant is burned eternally into my skull but I don't feel that this was worth paying for.

It was more!
No shit, when the part about the tribe listening to the old woman hit I almost cried. A beautiful story, and is making me more curious of the culture. Just listened to the 4 agreements before this, and it mentioned Toltecs. Now I want to know everything about this sacrificial wizardry, and advanced intelligence this culture possessed. I just listened to :The World's Greatest Civilizations: The History and Culture of the Toltec, following this book. I have to say I am curious about everything this culture has to teach, and am happy that its values were so strong it escaped the civilization and is still effecting the world today.
