Hundreds of details about the early history of mankind had become entirely lost until the restoration of the gospel. These details about the first 2,000 years of human history are all to be found in this groundbreaking volume. We now know that Adam and Eve had two generations of children before Cain and Abel were born. The exact year of the Great Flood can now be calculated. A very good read. So much information.
Revisado: 03-13-23
I really liked this book. I had heard of it for a long time before finally deciding to read it. It is clear that it truly took him and his wife over 15 years to write it. The research that went into it must have been extensive. He offered such information based off of scriptural reference and sources. Every word rang true with me. I can’t wait to read the other books.

Historia
In April 1942, Lale Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew, is forcibly transported to the concentration camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau. When his captors discover that he speaks several languages, he is put to work as a Tätowierer (German for tattooist), tasked with permanently marking his fellow prisoners. Imprisoned for more than two and a half years, Lale witnesses horrific atrocities and barbarism - but also incredible acts of bravery and compassion. Risking his own life, he uses his position to exchange jewels and money from murdered Jews for food to keep his fellow prisoners alive.

Very touching story
Revisado: 04-16-19
I am drawn to this period in time...the harrowing stories, atrocities, the miracles that happened for some, they are all captivating in their own ways. This story was no different, I felt transported to that time and although I could never understand what they lived through, I am able to sympathize enough to have some understanding. Hearing what they went through often makes me wonder how I would’ve faired- and I’m not sure I’d have faired as well as the main characters did.
I appreciated the end of the book as well, hearing how they faired afterwards in real life, etc.
The narrator, Richard Armitage is one of my favorite actors and his voice was perfect for this book. I could listen to him all day, everyday.

Highly Recommended Read

The studies that are referenced in this book, dating back over a century are very eye opening. Calories in and calories out, low fat, I am stunned at how long we ignored the data...and how it continues today. It makes perfect sense that weight gain is controlled through hormones- and the main instigator is insulin. It makes sense after hearing the facts laid out in the studies that every diet works..short term. So many things make more sense now. Please, read this. It changed my perspective on a few things. I have already played with many of the things discussed in this book. All without complete success. I have held onto things I did not want to give up- hoping that it would work anyway. The first step towards this book was that I had already tried Intermittent Fasting. Tried it and realized it wasn’t as hard as I thought because i decided to do it myself. It came from me. Hearing about it at length in this book, (towards the end) only strengthened my understanding. I have held onto diet soda and artificial sweeteners- a crutch. Hoping they had no effect on my lack of weight gain- only to realize the truth that they do and I am ready to leave them behind. Highly processed grains and foods...that no matter how natural it is- all made from organic corn, wheat, or whatever...the fact that we reduce it to a fine powder makes it so much more impactful on our insulin levels. That fiber- the natural packaging of food is so important in regulating insulin when eating...I’ve learned a lot and I could go on and on.... I’m ready to implement it all. I am so glad I listened to this book. I highly recommend this book. Listen to the facts for yourself- I hope you are awakened as I was.

Historia
When you have to kill the same terrorist twice in one week there’s either something wrong with your world or something wrong with your skills - and there’s nothing wrong with Joe Ledger’s skills. And that’s both a good and a bad thing. It’s good because he’s a Baltimore detective who has just been secretly recruited by the government to lead a new task force created to deal with the problems that Homeland Security can’t handle....

I got this in a two for one credit sale. I honestly didn’t have High hopes for it. I am a Walking Dead fan and love other zombie lore. I was afraid it would be the same old line, but it wasn’t. I love the fresh take on it, the science behind it, the writing is great and the narrator did an excellent job. I highly recommend this book.
