An enjoyable step back into this world
Revisado: 10-01-21
Found it enjoyable to step back into this world and get more story from the wonderful characters Brandon created. Knowing another author wrote this had me coming in a bit worried but it was still good and a very entertaining story with character progression thst made sense and filled in story and lore. I think the only thing I groaned about was the love story that was a bit.... Idk.. It was fine but it felt very similar to simple.. Well.. I guess this is YA so maybe it's exactly what it should be.

Why do we exist? Why do bad things happen? What did Jesus do? What does the Holy Spirit do? Where are we headed? All of these questions and more are addressed in God's Grand Framework. This audiobook is Pastor Jamin Bradley's big picture look at what the Bible has to say. It uses the overarching story that the Bible tells to address the many important questions Christians ask. If you're tired of getting cliché answers to the important questions of the Christian faith, then God's Grand Framework is for you.

Nice question and answers of our place
Revisado: 03-03-21
I found this an easy to understand description of God, the Bible, and the world around us as we look at what it means to be a Christian. I liked how the chapters were just questions and they were logically and clearly explained out. While some of the ideals and thoughts are not exactly what one may have been "brought up with" through christian homes, I don't think much of anything in this breaks that core thought of Jesus being of no sin and dying for our sins.

A fantastic tale of second chances
Revisado: 02-12-21
Production of the audio and the narrator does a wonderful job. I think the only big curveball for me was the choice of voice for Vinny sounded almost exactly like Idris Elba and that is really not how I imagined him. Ha!
Time travel is my favorite.. and Nick does a great job with this one.
I liked the slow reveal of rules and the logical progression of solving the childhood problem of Joe. It was a riveting story and I enjoyed every part of it. The hard hitting repercussions of changing time are present and I liked the progress of time loops being thought of and present was nice.

Angels and demons. Zombies and ghosts. Water serpents and cyborg dragons. Heaven and hell. Politics and religion. Brennan and Kahli experience it all when their lives are flipped upside down by a miracle man named Sarx, who is on a mission to install a kingdom on the earth that will overthrow the great dragon and end the corruption that plagues it. As this allegorical fantasy unfolds, you just might find yourself seeing the Gospel story in a whole new light.

interesting Christian theology/allegorical story
Revisado: 06-22-20
An interesting Christian theology/allegorical story, very similar to something like Pilgrim's progress, but with many things heavily on the nose when it comes to Christ. His life and the spiritual aspects of who He is, which I think is the coolest part of this story/allegory. There were others that were a bit of an eyeroll, but I understood the idea (carrots rather than wood).
Ultimately taking on a true defeater of our faith, which I would prefer not to mention as it can be a spoiler in a way. Very clever and an interesting way to "teach" such a thing.
Story is told in parts and follows the gospels, pretty on target as well. Goes quick this way and the story gets told well, but there are not as in-depth character development - though all development is in line with those in the gospels themselves so this makes sense.
This was written after a book of theology (also by the author) and I have not read that at this time, but preferred not having that thought process as I took this in. I will read the other as well though at some point in time as I enjoy the way the author puts forth the message and, in that, God's word. I even like their personally done audio books - voices and energy is wonderful.

Historia
In October of 2016, our estimate of how many galaxies there are in the universe jumped from 200 billion to 2 trillion, which begs the question: is there life outside of our planet? And if so, what does that do to our theology? In Alien Theology, Pastor Bradley enters into a conversation that started before Christ and considers the possibility of alien life in light of Scripture, science, and logic.

An intellegent look on Science and Faith
Revisado: 06-22-20
An intelligent take on the mix of science and theology. I would say if you don't think that is a tasteful thing, then don't read it, but I found it stimulating to my thoughts and I have always seen a world created by a God of order.. And science is just us learning what that order really is.

Historia
Godzilla, Mothra, and Gamera are all well-known kaiju in Japanese stories and movies. These strange creatures, often of enormous size, tend to bring chaos along with them wherever they go. Intruigingly enough, kaiju-like beings can be found throughout the Bible in creatures such as Leviathan, Rahab, and Behemoth.

A serious look at Levithan in the Bible
Revisado: 06-22-20
A serious look at the Leviathan and Behemoth mentioned in the Bible. It may sound like an odd choice for a book, I found this very insightful and incredibly well thought out. Jamin does a great job both writing and narrating his own book. I found his narration brought it to life in a great way and pulled me in even more than if I had just read it. There is a bunch of information here and I really thing I learned something coming out of this.

Another homerun by Sanderson
Revisado: 06-22-20
Another home run by Sanderson. This may be one of my favorites. I really like how he melded this universe together. Of course, his system of super powers was just as well thought out as his methods of magic systems.
This was just all around a great read. Any superhero fan, or sci-fi fan will enjoy this book.
---2nd Reading
Sooooooo good. Really enjoyed this even the second time and you really catch those story elements that shine on this awesome ending. I can see myself re-reading this many more times.

Historia
A Taste of Jesus is an in-depth look at the characteristics that are meant to make up the Christian's life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Bradley explains just how radical and counter-cultural these fruits are when they are grown in fullness. These are the characteristics of the upside-down, backwards Kingdom of Heaven and when we live like we're residents there, we begin to give people a real taste of Jesus, who is living inside of us via the Holy Spirit.

Challenges your Faith in Christ
Revisado: 06-22-20
An informative and eye opening book. It covers many challenging things about faith in Christ. For yourself to be growing the fruit of the spirit in general, but then covering some very specific and applicable things we face in the here and now. One of the big ones covered is loving your enemies and the issues we deal with in doing such. It also brings to light of the spiritual really does exist and we need to be doing something about it… even if it's just believing and praying with such a mind.
There are thoughts on evolution and science, seeing it fit with God rather than be totally against. There are some very different viewpoints than one might have grown up with so one might need to be careful coming into this and be sure to search out the Lord/The Bible yourself to confirm truths. This book covers peace of Christ and the need for us to be better at accepting such a thing. It also covers political thoughts and seeing the world through the eyes of Christ, which is … hard. I can certainly say this is giving me a challenge in going into God's word and being sure I know what God is calling out of me for my life and what that means for me interacting with others.
I personally enjoyed it - and continue to find I enjoy the way Jamin puts forth information.
Note: Interesting with the fact of this being an audiobook - there is music at the end of the book. Surprised me - and I enjoyed it - though I usually listen at 2x speed and had to slow it down to enjoy those songs.

Life is hard
Revisado: 11-04-19
Life is hard, and I got to say this book captures a life harder than most, but only proves the power God has when we give Him our lives. The author is forthright and straightforward in his message. He does not hold back and I appreciate the honestly, as well as, the honest and true embracing of the reader/listener in love. This book rejuvenates the truth that God can change, heal, and send out anyone. Amen - Anyone hurting from their life or just wanting to hear about a life changed will enjoy this book.
