Historia
In 2008, Celeste Mergens was working with an overcrowded orphanage on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya, when she learned that menstruating girls sat on cardboard in their rooms for several days each month. This set into motion a simple idea—combining a washable, long-lasting pad with taboo-breaking education-that became a catalyst for an unlikely global movement for equity. Written in short, evocative chapters, The Power of Days tells the story of Mergens's quest to rally a global response to elevate menstrual health.

If you read one book this year, it must be this one! Don’t miss the message and the hope I’m The Power or Days!
Revisado: 11-16-23
Audible is the best way to capture Celeste’s book and message, though you’ll want to read it also to highlight favorites stories and quotes.
Celeste brilliantly shares her own survival story which served as a foundation for her unique and exceptional world-changing work to come.
You will be shocked and saddened to learn of “menstrual poverty,” a term I’d never heard before, but I guarantee by the time you’ve read or listened to the book, you’ll want to loudly cheer for the heroines, the courage of young girls and women everywhere, who push past stigma, shame and abuse and find more hope, confidence, and future opportunities they’ve never dreamed we’re possible!!
This cause needs all of the exposure, support, and funds/volunteer work we can offer. You will want and need to become involved because it affects millions of people and can change lives forever. Every one of us can make a difference for good.
After learning of the need for menstrual equity, you will naturally feel promoted, motivated and inspired to get involved with Days for Girls, or another important cause that can make this world a better place.
It has my highest recommendation.

Historia
From the New York Times best-selling authors of America's First Daughter comes the epic story of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton - a revolutionary woman who, like her new nation, struggled to define herself in the wake of war, betrayal, and tragedy. In this haunting, moving, and beautifully written book, Dray and Kamoie used thousands of letters and original sources to tell Eliza's story as it's never been told before - not just as the wronged wife at the center of a political sex scandal but also as a founding mother who shaped an American legacy in her own right.

Captivating, informative, and inspiring!
Revisado: 03-03-23
My Dear Hamilton was amazing to listen to and I was totally swept up in the story. The reader was excellent and I thought of her as Eliza herself so it was perfect! The authors were creative in weaving history throughout the story in an interesting and delightful way, and I learned so much about Hamilton, Eliza, her family and friends, our country’s beginning, the founding fathers, this unique time period, and inspiring ideas that brought a new nation of liberty to life! Excellent in every category and so entertaining!! I’ll listen to it again!
Thanks you Stephanie and Laura for your years of research and beautiful words and composition that brought this story to life. Well done—it was worth your years of struggle, work, and sacrifice. I thank you!

Historia
Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters.

Powerful tragic story of love, endurance and forgiveness.
Revisado: 08-24-22
I loved another of Kristin Hannah’s beautiful mesmerizing books. It’s important to know of the needless suffering and sacrifice of the Russian people during the Leningrad siege. What a difficult history they have had for so long, and even continue to have now. This beautiful story took me through this family’s tragic journey of sacrifice, endurance, and ultimately unconditional love and forgiveness. I loved it and learned so much and gained an appreciation for those who have lost so much for those they loved. Incredible and inspiring message of hope, endurance, and love.

Historia
Stephen M.R. Covey has made it his life’s work to understand trust in leadership and organizations. In his newest and most transformative book, Trust and Inspire, he offers a simple yet bold solution: to shift from this “command and control” model to a leadership style of “trust and inspire.” People don’t want to be managed; they want to be led. Trust and Inspire is a new way of leading that starts with the belief that people are creative, collaborative, and full of potential.

Truly inspirational and applicable for life!
Revisado: 07-30-22
I just finished listening to Trust and Inspire and have so many practical and inspiring takeaways. The content is excellent and applicable in any role in life: whether you are in business or any profession, a teacher, a parent, administrator, or someone who desires to be a mentor to others. The examples and quotes are relatable and interesting, and you can immediately apply this new leadership model at home or work, and in every aspect of your personal life. It has made me become much more aware of what leadership methods I use and has given me a step by step guide to become more of a “trust and inspire” leader. I feel I can improve my relationships with others with the tools and ideas shared. I am genuinely inspired to become the leader I have seen modeled throughout this audiobook, and realize the powerful influence that comes with this type of excellent leadership. I would highly recommend this audiobook and its content to anyone who wants to improve valuable relationships in their lives.

Historia
In late March 1944, as Stalin’s forces push into Ukraine, young Emil and Adeline Martel must make a terrible decision: Do they wait for the Soviet bear’s intrusion and risk being sent to Siberia? Or do they reluctantly follow the wolves - murderous Nazi officers who have pledged to protect “pure-blood” Germans? The Martels are one of many families of German heritage whose ancestors have farmed in Ukraine for more than a century.

Incredible inspiring story of family, faith and freedom
Revisado: 04-15-22
I loved this inspiring story of a wonderful family who gave everything and suffered greatly to enjoy the basic freedoms that we have in America. They relied on their love of each other, their strong faith in God who showed them miracles throughout true journey, their hope of being reunited and having a wonderful life of freedom in a great green valley. So well told and great presentation. It inspired me and I feel more grateful for my blessings and living in the USA than ever before. Thank you —great reading on audible too.
