Historia
With a knife in his gut, Rowan figured he was destined to become just another corpse littering the slums of Taureen. So he was fairly surprised to wake up in the back of a moving wagon with a couple of adventurers. Turns out that Rowan had been given something most street rats can only dream of—a second chance.

MC is dumb when it matters
Revisado: 10-25-23
I'm about 20 hours in and think I'm just going to stop here. The story is engaging and the MC is usually fine despite behaving younger than his age and experience would suggest. However, at critical moments, the MC is dumb just to move the story in a certain direction. It pulled me out of the story and made me feel manipulated. Just a note: if you stab someone with the intention to kill them, don't just stare and chat with them while they heal. Stab them a lot! Duh. I feel like a 'street rat' would understand that.

Beset by nightmarish creatures from the caverns below, Jason’s tribe is slowly being whittled away. He dreams of joining the glorious Shadowfront and battling the enemy known only as the Void. But, as a lowly Pastfinder, he is denied that path - until he chances upon the ruins of a long dead civilization and discovers a forgotten form of cultivation, one fueled by the ghosts of centuries-lost history and powerful, forbidden knowledge. If his fellow tribesmen learn of his new power's cursed origins, the Void will be the least of his concerns.

Want to listen to a loser MC lose and lose? I don't know how much more I can take. I like the idea and the world, but the MC has every wrong instinct and just makes the worst of every situation. It's just really difficult to listen to so far.

Will refused to admit to the HR lady at Radical Interactive that he'd never played their debut virtual reality MMORPG The Realm. With the company's failed attempt at entering the gaming industry, they switched their sights to focus on smaller scale educational programs. Being a beta tester for Radical Interactive was not the dream job that Will had envisioned, but he had hoped it would get his foot in the door to one day becoming a graphic designer for the company. He never realized that he was literally signing his life away.

Unlikable MC
Revisado: 10-06-21
I'm most of the way through book 2, but I can't take the MC anymore. He super sucks. He whines, frets, and assumes his way through two worlds that he thinks owe him something. Maybe he'll grow up, but I'm not interested in his journey anymore, It's too bad because the writing is good, the ideas are compelling and the narration is great.

Historia
Accidentally murdered by a cleric in another universe during a botched resurrection, Arnold, a semi-pro gamer, wakes upon an altar to find himself incarnated into the overweight body of a farmer who could have been his fatter twin. He’s not the hero. He’s not the villain. He’s certainly not the chosen one who is there to save the world. He’s a clerical error. It could be a bad joke, but apparently, it happens so often that they have a standard procedure for returning you.

Utterly tedious
Revisado: 09-12-21
All of the elements of a cool book are there, but it's soooo boring. The battles just drone on and on. Characters keep thinking that they are going to do something awesome, but it doesn't work out at all. They spend a lot of time thinking about how they need to do something different and they keep losing and thinking and thinking and losing. Then they win... for some reason. I'm partially writing this review to help me remember not to try listening again.

I want to go on an adventure with these characters
Revisado: 12-06-18
I always feel at home with Trevor's characters. They are nice, intelligent people who love each other. That doesn't stop them from giving each other constant shipt. This book built nicely on the camaraderie of the first while moving through a new adventure and expanding the 'family'. I listened to it all in one sitting. Ok, maybe a couple of interruptions for skype meetings. ...stupid corporate status meetings, interrupting my... Whatever, buy this book and book 1 if you haven't. Then buy the Moonrat saga. You'll get lost and you won't regret it.
BTW... there is a new reader. I was indignant for about 5 minutes, then completely forgot until I was writing this review.

It hungers to consume the power of the Jharro Grove and if it succeeds the world will be plunged into darkness.

You are going to want to listen to this series.
Revisado: 01-05-18
Where does Behemoth rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Well, I've listened to hundreds in several genres, so ranking doesn't make much sense to me. This series and this finale are a great deal of fun. The combination of Trevor and Andrew I can rank as in my top 5 favorites.
What did you like best about this story?
It was good to have so much of the Jarro Grove tension resolved in this book. There was a lot of interesting action and some awesome boss fights.
Which character – as performed by Andrew Tell – was your favorite?
Gwyrtha
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes.
Any additional comments?
I can't wait for Trevor to write his next series in this universe.

Historia
When Detective Douglas Jones' son goes missing under strange circumstances, everyone assumes he ran away. The first break in the case comes when a long-lost relative shows up with a new name and a strange tattoo on the palm of his left hand. His name is Tallow Jones. He is a private detective... and a wizard. A wizard is needed too, because in Atlanta, strange abductions are just the tip of the iceberg.

Listened in one sitting
Revisado: 01-05-18
What made the experience of listening to Tallow Jones: Wizard Detective the most enjoyable?
I found this book to be completely engrossing. I've enjoyed all of Trevor's books, but it seemed like he pulled out a new trick here with how seeming plot holes were resolved. Maybe it was the way I got involved in the story or my mood that day, but I felt myself getting frustrated with what seemed like plot holes, then greatly enjoying the surprise resolution to them. That just doesn't really happen to me much anymore due to being a lifelong reader.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Tallow Jones: Wizard Detective?
I can't believe it, but I was actually caught off guard by the twist.
What about Andrew Tell’s performance did you like?
Andrew's just a great reader. I immediately liked him when he read Trevor's first book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I did and did!
Any additional comments?
Trevor creates likable protagonists that tend to act like decent people. His antagonists aren't overly complex, but they (given the context) have believable motivations for their behaviors. Andrew brings them all to life.

Historia
When marine private Oliver Chadwick Gardenier is killed in the marine barrack bombing in Beirut, somebody who might be Saint Peter gives him a choice: Go to heaven, which, while nice, might be a little boring, or return to earth. The Boss has a mission for him, and he's to look for a sign. He's a marine: He'll choose the mission. Unfortunately, the sign he's to look for is "57". Which, given the food services contract in Bethesda Hospital, creates some difficulty. Eventually it appears that God's will is for Chad to join a group called Monster Hunters International.

Revisado: 08-15-16
If you could sum up Monster Hunter Memoirs: Grunge in three words, what would they be?
engaging, entertaining, satiating
Have you listened to any of Oliver Wyman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. Very well.
Any additional comments?
I'm always hesitant about books that don't forward the universe I'm interested in. In this case, I'm glad I took the chance.
