Historia
He's a self-described beach bum who won his houseboat in a card game. He's also a knight errant who's wary of credit cards, retirement benefits, political parties, mortgages, and television. He only works when his cash runs out, and his rule is simple: he'll help you find whatever was taken from you, as long as he can keep half.

Misogynistic Much?
Revisado: 12-11-23
I hated the main character so much. He was such a gross male stereotype. But the clincher was the dialogue between the women and him. The worst was, “my god woman you’ve gotten fat! What are you up to?” And the answer? 107.

An Author Who Can't Write
Revisado: 06-09-17
The main character of this book is a teacher. Yet when she speaks, she uses I when she should use me. She uses me when it should be I, and she says "can I" when she should say may I. At that point, I just yelled at the narrator and turned it off. There is nothing worse than an author who doesn't have appropriate skills in grammar!

Historia
Lillian Linden is a liar. On the surface, she looks like a brave survivor of a plane crash. But she's been lying to her family, her friends, and the whole world since rescue helicopters scooped her and her fellow survivor, Dave Hall, off a deserted island in the South Pacific. Missing for almost two years, the castaways are thrust into the spotlight after their rescue, becoming media darlings overnight. But they can't tell the real story--so they lie.

Dumb Ending
Revisado: 04-22-17
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. First, the narration of Luke Daniels was like fingernails on a chalkboard. He was fine when doing voices, but when he narrated, I felt like I was listening to some sports announcer at a game. It was so weird and inauthentic.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
1. a different male lead; 2. a real tension - the notion that two people would be on an island alone together and not have sex was ridiculous. It was not a secret worth keeping and causing so much strife.
Would you be willing to try another one of Kristin Watson Heintz and Luke Daniels ’s performances?
I liked Kristin's narration, but I will be avoiding books with Luke as a narrator.
Did Wreckage inspire you to do anything?
Yes, look for books by Luke Daniels to avoid.

Historia
Sous chef Aimee Tierney has the perfect recipe for the perfect life: marry her childhood sweetheart, raise a family, and buy out her parents’ restaurant. But when her fiancé, James Donato, vanishes in a boating accident, her well-baked future is swept out to sea. Instead of walking down the aisle on their wedding day, Aimee is at James’s funeral - a funeral that leaves her more unsettled than at peace.

Meh
Revisado: 03-27-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I'm not sure if it was the writing or the performance, but the lead character felt so whiney. I get that she was vulnerable and dealing with loss, but it felt less sad and more desperate. The story was slow to pick up as well, and when the mystery part of it was solved, it just fell flat. I had higher hopes for this one!

I was quite drawn in by this book. I enjoyed how one story moved forward while another part of the story moved backward in its telling. Written in the vein of Girl On A Train. I highly recommend!

I was immediately drawn into this story. I wasn't sure about the ending, but it was satisfying enough...just got a little corny. But overall, I would strongly recommend this in either written or audio form.
