This book gets it—self-care isn’t always bubble baths and hours of yoga (thank goodness, but I've never been able to make a pair of yoga pants work anyway!). The tips are simple, realistic, and actually work for someone with a packed schedule (like me). The wit throughout kept it fun and down-to-earth, and I found myself laughing while learning. The chapter on meal times harkened me back to when my Mom used to make us truly focus on reflection and connection - something I miss and am setting a goal to get back to. The book is chock-full of advice that we (I) often give others, but too rarely apply to ourselves. It was a nice reminder to turn the advice inward and that by taking care of myself, I can better care for others. Unlike so many of these types of books, It gratefully doesn’t guilt you into doing more; instead, it gives you small, doable ideas to make life less chaotic. If you’re looking for practical advice with a side of laughs, this is definitely worth reading.
