having a hard time finishing this. I cannot connect with male narrator and the female narrator is good with voices and maybe it's the character she is portraying but hers and that if the male narrators (bland and almost monotone) tone is not helping me to connect with the characters. I hated the wasted credit.. I will be finishing this book and the next on Kindle books.

great start to

I loved the twist on the usual shifter/ human story. however I really wish the author would continue the series, it's been almost 5 yrs and not even a 2nd book when this is labeled "book 1" !!??
And while Ella and Ty have their HFN ending there are way too many unanswered questions and storyline set ups left hanging. Would loved to have had more information about the war that happened centuries ago and what started it.
I have a hard time with how fast/easy Ella adjusted to civilization and accepting so much that was against everything she was raised to believe.

not same content as books

I bought this as I love getting 5 for the price of 1... however I ended up returning it as I was reading the the books (not box set) and the audible was missing chunks of pages from the books. there was a a part in book 2 where the dialogue between H/h was removed and rewritten to a short 3 sentences about what the h was thinking! then the next 3 pages of what was going through the H mind and how he was feeling was completely gone!!
This could be why some reviews say there is no real story line or development of characters... you can't get the complete store for feel of the books if it is missing parts or things have been removed and rewritten leaving out some vital character details.
I will go back and read all of book 1 instead of picking up where I left off from audible, I may actually like the books better than I do now.

if you get a different narrator I would consider repurchasing as for now I will stick with just reading the book..
male and female voices all sound childish like a bunch of teenagers bickering back and forth. at times couldn't tell if someone was talking or she was reading the story.
I hate to say anything negative about narrators as they do have feelings but sometimes I just have to especially if it is the reason I feel the need to return a book, as usually I listen to my books repeatedly.

the story had a good base but no character development, story line moved too fast. I guess that is a drawback of a short book. Makes it hard to get invested in the characters and what happens to them.
As for the narrator some advice, not sure how long you have been doing this but try adding some emotion into your reading. Also change the voices of male and female characters helps. When you read in a monotone it makes it hard to finish listening.

horrible narrator... hard for me to finish

loved the book as the next in the series but struggled to finish because of narrator. I am glad I read the book a few times before getting the audio because if I had to judge base on this audio my rating would be very low.

Narrator has a high voice, no difference in the male voices and the females. These males are supposed to be strong alpha males and this narrator makes them sound whiny and femine.

There is no consistency in pronunciation of names from book to book.

missing parts of the story

I have the book as well as the audio.. the audio is missing a lot of the book. Some, in my opinion, key parts and information. I did not finish listening to this book for that reason.
The narrative was good, would give more stars if she would have stuck to what was written. the book refers to peanut butter on toast not veggiemite... too many inconsistencies between audio version and book version. I gave story itself 4 stars but only 1 for overall and performance. If I had not read the book it would not have gotten 4 stars.
