Historia
In 1737, Anna Konig and her fellow church members stagger off a small wooden ship after 10 weeks at sea, eager to start a new life in the vibrant but raw Pennsylvania frontier. On the docks of Port Philadelphia waits bishop Jacob Bauer, founder of the settlement and father to ship carpenter Bairn. It's a time of new beginnings for the reunited Bauer family, and for Anna and Bairn's shipboard romance to blossom. But this perfect moment cannot last.

Great Characters!!
Revisado: 04-24-25
I truly enjoyed the depth of characters and the arcs of this work. There is a cameo with Benjamin Franklin that is enjoyable. As with her other works, sensory details and imagery make the story a delight.

Renarin and Rlain Storyline Ruined it
Revisado: 01-30-25
The Renarin and Rlain storyline ruined the book for me. Seemed forced, like something the publisher told Brandon to put into the book. I skipped a lot of those scenes. Otherwise great Sanderson writing. Not sure if I’ll continue with the next Arc.

Historia
Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing as an average woman. But it’s the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute takes a very unscientific view of equality. Except for one: Calvin Evans; the lonely, brilliant, Nobel–prize nominated grudge-holder who falls in love with—of all things—her mind. True chemistry results.

Stock Feminist Character with unimaginative backstory
Revisado: 08-19-24
I always hate reading things with one clear viewpoint. It’s not real or representative of the real world, thus lacking artistically. Unfortunately this book is a feminist’s rant. Unfortunate because the writing is good and performance well done. I couldn’t make it halfway- (I tried). Regret spending the money. Too bad audible doesn’t give refunds for books one doesn’t like or can’t finish 😂.

Historia
Focused on a career in medicine and not on romance, Willa Duvall is thrown slightly off course during the summer of 1865 when she discovers a never-opened love letter in a crack of her old writing desk. Compelled to find the passionate soul who penned it and the person who never received it, she takes a job as a nurse at the seaside Crestwicke Manor. Everyone at Crestwicke has feelings—mostly negative—about the man who wrote the letter, but he seems to have disappeared. With plenty of clues but few answers, Willa's search becomes even more complicated when she misplaces the letter.

Beautiful story and better message. I liked the timeline, the way the letter affected all characters and the conflict that it caused
