Historia
This lush novel, set in 1766 England and America, evokes an era ripe with riot and revolution, from the teeming streets of London to the sprawling grounds of a Virginia plantation. Mack McAsh burns with the desire to escape his life of slavery in Scottish coal mines while Lizzie Hallim is desperate to shed a life of sheltered subjugation to her spineless husband. United in America, their only chance for freedom lies beyond the Western frontier - if they're brave enough to take it.

Historia
If You Can Keep It is at once a thrilling review of America's uniqueness, and a sobering reminder that America's greatness cannot continue unless we truly understand what our founding fathers meant for us to be. The book includes a stirring call-to-action for every American to understand the ideals behind the "noble experiment in ordered liberty" that is America. It also paints a vivid picture of the tremendous fragility of that experiment and explains why that fragility has been dangerously forgotten.

Historia
The Civil War is most remembered for the grand battles that have come to define it: Gettysburg, Antietam, Shiloh, among others. However, as bestselling author Patrick K. O’Donnell reveals in The Unvanquished, a vital shadow war raged amid and away from the major battlefields that was in many ways equally consequential to the conflict’s outcome.

Historia
Circadian Rhythm is the name of a boat that was the vehicle for many summers of rollicking good times for a group of blue-collar yachtsmen. This book describes these adventures and provides the listener with a glimpse of the champagne life style on a beer budget. The intrepid crew of Circadian Rhythm could barely make the month's payment on the boat, but still managed to bang heads with the "blue-bloods" of the New England sailing world and come out ahead. This book is for the armchair sailor and active sailor who enjoy a good yarn with a few chuckles mixed in.

Circadian Rythums- What A Ride
Revisado: 05-10-24
Coming from a sailing background I always look for stories about sailboats and the Seas. circadian rhythm sounded like a good one to try. I just have to say that I have listened to it twice and enjoyed it as much the second time as the first. the author has a great way of telling the his early life and getting started with growing up and eventually buying his first serious boat. the narration is perfect and loved listening to it. so much of the experiences he had talked about, I have experienced also. if you love sailing racing, and good storytelling, this book is for you.

Historia
How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Historia
Published in 1945, Cannery Row focuses on the acceptance of life as it is: both the exuberance of community and the loneliness of the individual. Drawing on his memories of the real inhabitants of Monterey, California, Steinbeck interweaves the stories of Doc, Henri, Mack and his boys, and the other characters in this world where only the fittest survive, to create a novel that is at once one of his most humorous and most poignant works.
