Historia
It is the morning of the reaping that will kick off the 10th annual Hunger Games. In the Capitol, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games. The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to out charm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute. The odds are against him. He’s been given the humiliating assignment of mentoring the female tribute from District 12, the lowest of the low.

Fantastic book very detailed and Coriolanus was kinda hot I'm saying was because at the end of the story he does some things that aren't very hot like ew

Historia
In this searing memoir, Congressman Jamie Raskin tells the story of the forty-five days at the start of 2021 that permanently changed his life—and his family’s—as he confronted the painful loss of his son to suicide, lived through the violent insurrection in our nation’s Capitol, and led the impeachment effort to hold President Trump accountable for inciting the political violence.

Honouring, harrowing, heartbreaking
Revisado: 01-12-22
I was moved to tears many times as Mr. Raskin lovingly described his dear boy, and passionately communicated his love & fear for this country. I learned a lot about American politics, & how astonishingly close we came to a successful coup, although it's even more frustrating now that there isn't more that could have been done to prevent or punish the corruption. I hope some readers will get past any disagreements they have with the author's views, to engage with the heart of his message.

The charmingly eccentric Otto Draxinger appears to be your typical pipe-smoking Oxford professor, doing his best to preserve his sanity while his beloved former students are being slaughtered at the Western Front. But the American expatriate has diagnosed himself with the newly coined term “schizophrenia”. And he believes the nightmarish waking visions he’s been experiencing are caused by the psychological trauma of the catastrophe that is The Great War.

Creative & Well-researched
Revisado: 06-24-21
The author expertly pulls together an odd assortment of characters, gives them depth in a very well- researched setting, and then mixes in enough mysterious elements for the reader to suspend their disbelief. Very creative application of humour & wit in a dark historical context. The narrator does a great job bringing it to life.
