Raw and honest providing a straight person to gain insight!

I am a straight 73 year old man that was raised in a Christian environment that believed that gayness was sinful. I really wanted to learn another perspective on this subject. When Mayor Pete was running for president, my mind started to open. I listened to his book as well. In Pete, I observed a person that was honest and intelligent. I soon came to realize that he was the best person to become president in my opinion.

So when Chasten wrote this book, I decided that I wanted to learn more and listened to it. Both Pete and Chasten’s stories helped me realize that becoming gay really isn’t a choice. It’s how they were created.

Chasten’s story is well written and it really helped that he read it himself. The pain that he went through made me sad. Learning how he and Pete connected seemingly was a miracle.

I really appreciated the honesty of it. Well done Chasten. Here’s hoping the very best for you and Peter.

SETH HIT A HOMERUN!

What did you love best about Wooden?

I really appreciated the honesty the Seth Davis displayed in telling the story about Johnny Wooden. Most of us only saw the side of Johnny in his latter years. I always wondered if it truly was possible to coach UCLA to so many championships with what seemed to be a gentlemanly approach. This book tells it all.

Yes, it was the story of how love overcame addiction and preserved the life of a man that greatly displayed dedication to make America a safer place. He also lived out the immeasurable value of family in all aspects of life.

INTRIGUED WITH RACING IN THE '60'S?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I was a Indy Car racing fan in the 1960's. I loved the Indy 500 and really didn't know much of the Le Mans or Ford's involvement in the racing scene. That said, I really enjoyed this book and learning about the influence and history of both Enzo Ferrari and Henry Ford Jr.

Where does Back to Happy rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Being a professional voice, author Connie Bowman does an outstanding narration of her book. Using the story of her personal loss of her daughter makes this book real as she gives many suggestions of steps to consider while going through the grief from loss process.

What did you like best about this story?

While Connie's personal belief system is through the Christian perspective, she presents the book in such a way, the she encourages the readers to embrace their own belief system of their higher power.

Have you listened to any of Connie T. Bowman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

From time to time, people in my circle of influence experience loss. I will feel very comfortable in suggesting 'Back to Happy' as a book that the person may want to consider reading when they are ready.
