Historia
Twenty years ago, it was as if someone turned on a light. The future blazed into existence with each deliberate word that William Gibson laid down. The winner of Hugo, Nebula, and Philip K. Dick Awards, Neuromancer didn't just explode onto the science fiction scene - it permeated into the collective consciousness, culture, science, and technology.Today, there is only one science fiction masterpiece to thank for the term "cyberpunk," for easing the way into the information age and Internet society.

Hard to follow
Revisado: 02-20-24
"Necromancer" emerges as a literary work that boasts an undeniably beautiful command of language, each sentence meticulously crafted, drawing the listener into its intricate world. The author's ability to paint vivid, ethereal landscapes and construct deeply complex characters is nothing short of masterful, making it a feast for the ears for those who appreciate the art of storytelling. However, it's this very complexity that becomes the book's undoing for a casual listener. The narrative is labyrinthine, weaving multiple storylines in a way that often feels more confounding than enlightening. As the plot progresses, it becomes increasingly difficult to follow the thread of the story, leaving listeners to backtrack and re-listen to segments in an attempt to grasp the elusive narrative. This challenge is compounded in the audio format, where the absence of visual breaks or the ability to easily flip back pages exacerbates the issue. Moreover, the dense mythology and extensive cast of characters, while richly developed, demand a level of concentration and commitment that may deter those looking for a more straightforward or leisurely listening experience. It's a tale that perhaps requires not just listening, but studying, to fully appreciate its depth and nuances. In conclusion, "Necromancer" stands as a testament to the author's skill in crafting a world of profound beauty and complexity. Yet, its appeal may be limited to those willing to invest significant time and effort to untangle its intricate plot. For the casual listener seeking an engaging and accessible narrative, this audiobook may prove more perplexing than pleasurable.

In This Episode: We'll be discussing "church-hurt", sharing stories of disappointments, and talking about the future of the community. With a goal of healing from past pains, inspiring hope for the future, and building better leaders for generations to come. The goal of this podcast is it's not to throw shade at leaders or pastors or anyone. Historia
Break free from a safe (and boring) faith to truly live the abundant life with all the wonder Jesus promised in John 10:10. You are meant to receive the abundance God promises here and now. You are not meant to wait until heaven to experience His best. Even in the midst of our broken world’s traumas and trials, you can: learn to lower the volume of life and truly hear God; experience what it means to speak God’s Word over yourself for real victory; discover how to pray His promises instead of praying over the problems; and more....

Trying to reconcile book content with social media
Revisado: 07-23-20
The book was good, and normally with any other author I wouldn't let personal feelings about how the author views the world interfere with the content they are producing. However, with a book about entering the WILD life of the one that will listen to Holy Spirit I find the authors social media and they way he interacts with people that engage with him inconsistent with the message of living WILD and directed by Holy Spirit. Don't let my personal objection keep you from the book though.

Historia
Jack Torrance's new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he'll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote...and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.
