I feel bad people are trying to shame her for telling her story NOW . Trauma needs an outlet and she was denied it for so long. I feel
like she was permanently handicapped
from being able to be a true adult and manipulated and taken advantage of in an illegal
way to control her and her assets . This stunted her mental growth, her creativity and violated her human rights. Michelle did a fantastic job narrating !

The next adventure with Cindy’s characters is epic. With each new book the narration gets more magical. The toothless elderly characters are hilarious. I love that it never feels like one person is playing every character. He does it with such ease and pizazz, or subtlety (whatever is needed) , especially when Jaime has his fever dream and the accents rapidly change. He’s on point! I love this story and can’t wait to see how it all plays out. I read this story first so hearing it as always reminds me of forgotten yet important details and turning points. The fairy house being one happy nougat! An Utterly fantastic and pleasant listen .

I really enjoyed Gary’s narration for this book. He really does do various accents well so that you feel a distinct character from each person. Cindy’s writing is magnificent , she really captures the times well. It’s poignant, and melancholy, as it’s meant to be. It was hard hearing the demise of certain characters after already “living” them through the first reading of this book. Cindy gets an A+ from me! If you have finished her book with a dry eye you must be a sociopath, j/k.

I had already read this wonderful series after finishing what Diana Gabaldon had written and this was a perfect Segway. A perfectly plausible love triangle to make you envy and pity Pamela , Jaime (Irish aristocrat and so much more) and Casey (IRA Rebel) set in the political and religious struggle of Northern Ireland in the 60’s. There are dashes of the mythological and mystical Ireland but it’s not the focus.

Having heard it now as well I missed so many details. Specifically the very end I missed a very important piece of information about Pamela and I don’t know how! Gary really brought the characters to life and made the story more poignant. He did a variety of characters voices and accents and even languages across a few nationalities very well and was still able to give every Irish character male or female a distinct voice so it felt like different people.

I highly recommend listening!
