Historia
After winning two wars against the Nemovorti, Minalan plans an expedition to The Lost Valley of Anghysbel, in the far north of his realm. It's there, in the caldera of a supervolcano at the edge of the tundra, he suspects many of the answers he so desperately needs might be hidden. The only problem is that thanks to the anti-magical properties of the jevolar, his spells won’t work; he’ll be without magic for the first time since he came into his Talent.

All great series come to an end
Revisado: 11-25-21
This has been a great series and I have really enjoyed it. It seems now that the author has run out of ideas on where to take this adventure and has resorted to pop culture to maintain any interest. However the pop culture references were clunky and out of place
There were some bright spots that explained the history and politics of this world and how they evolved. Unfortunately there were not enough to make this a good listen. That’s too bad. I really liked this series
The author left enough hanging to continue the series, but I think this is a good place for me to stop

Disappointing
Revisado: 10-08-20
I have to admit that I approached this book with high expectations. I absolutly adored Eldest and the story of Eragon. This book didn't come close. The characters were under-developed and I couldn't relate to any of them, which surprised me because I thought this was one of the authors strongest talents. The story was somewhat interesting in places but fell short in maintaining a cohesive narrative. The conflicts were resolved too conveniently to mirror any kind of reality and powers would show up, just in the nick of time, to save the human race. I've read worse, but I expected so much better from this author.
I wish the author the best of luck and hope he continues to add his mark on Sci-Fy Fantasy. I believe in your talent... I just think you can do better.

Surprisingly Good!!!
Revisado: 04-05-18
I had just finished with a rather intricate series that required a lot of my attention and was looking for something lighter and less consuming. I found this book delightful and fit perfectly into that niche. I also found a level of sophistication that I didn't expect and was quite delighted as the story unfolded. Beyond the obvious plausibility issues with how fast our young hero progresses and his sudden transformation into a new world, there was good character development. I was quite pleased to find the women were not mindless bimbos and had history, culture and real life issues with the situation. I would like to see that developed a bit more if the series continues.
Although this book definitely awakened the adolescent 15 yo in me, it also left me wanting to follow the greater cause to its conclusion. I would rate this book to be mid-level... but with a lot of promise to become greater. The story line is there... the character development has a good base and the writing style is excellent. I look forward to the next chapter.

Anna is clearly different from others. With obvious physical differences and powerful abilities, she's never quite fit in...anywhere. Having no knowledge of her parents, she sets out to discover her true origin. On the run for most of her life, she's become a master at eluding capture, even a little cocky, you might say. When a sticky situation forces her hand, she hitches a ride with a wizard, who whisks her away to another world where, according to him, she'd been exiled from as a child.

Appropriate for an 11 yo
Revisado: 03-26-18
If you like golden dragons, blue trees and orange horses, this book might scratch that itch. It has the imagination that I look for in a fantasy novel... but just didn't flow well. The narrator didn't help much... moving from scene to scene leaving the reader wondering who she was talking about. I won't be continuing with this series, but it is age appropriate for YA.

Historia
Opposites attack! When the Magelord Minalan the Spellmonger’s two apprentices, Tyndal and Rondal, were knighted after the battle of Timberwatch, they were dubbed Knights Magi: A new class of nobility for distinguished High Magi. Designed to combine the pursuit of arcane knowledge with the noble aspirations of chivalry, it elevated them above common warmage...in theory. The problem was they had no idea how to be a Knight Mage...because no one had ever been one before.

Disappointing
Revisado: 01-24-18
I really enjoyed the first 3 books in this series... This one... not so much. Way too much instruction on how to pick up girls and not enough story line. The story that was presented was shallow and unimaginative. A real disappointment after such a great start on the first three books in this series.
The performance was great. John Lee did an excellent job. Unfortunately he didn't have much to work with.

Revisado: 08-26-16
I really enjoyed this series and found the narration to e quite good. It was fun and kept me guessing on where the story would take me next. The underlying theme of "The One" is very well intertwined with the story line and links the series together very well. The author is imaginative and well skilled in story telling.

A Good Read
Revisado: 03-31-16
I was taken by the authors depth in her character development. She did a great job in differentiating between innocence and naïve. I thought it started slow, but when she started tying the characters together through Meg, I could see the bonds she was forming throughout the community. By the end of this book, I was enthralled and could not put it down. I was not disappointed, the ending was excellent
