I just finished listening and highly recommend! it's really encouraging to hear how someone can walk in what the world sees as a limitation but keep moving forward and use that limitation as a platform for great impact.

Well thought out and full of good advice

Just to give perspective, I have read or listened to many dating and marriage books and one thing I really appreciate about Debra Fileta is that she discusses topics in a very balanced and full pictured way. I loved reading her book True Love Dates and was excited to hear that she was coming out with Choosing Marriage. Even though I am not married yet, I was convicted of different issues I see in my life and was encouraged to discover them and start dealing with them now instead of after getting married. This book goes to the core and helps discover heart issues that need to be healed to have a healthy and thriving marriage as well as talking through the misconceptions we often have of marriage and the actual reality of day-to-day life onced married. Marriage really is about making many choices of loving another even when you don't feel like it and also learning to discuss both of your needs with each other so you can both meet those needs in a balanced and healthy way. Both partners need to be on the same page and choose marriage. Very well written book! I will definitely add this to my books to re-listen to and would definitely recommend this to married couples, those who are dating, and singles.

Acuff knows the reason why many writers' novels go unfinished - it's the same reason why gyms are filled in the first week of January and empty by the end of the month and why people stop learning a new language once they get past the easy parts. It's not just that people lose momentum or get distracted. People give up on projects when they fail to live up to their own high expectations and decide that if they can't do something perfectly, they won't do it at all. If you're going to finish, you have to kill perfectionism.

I have started may projects big and small, I also have many ideas that I have yet to start or complete because of fear. This book was mentioned to me a couple days ago, so I started and finished it today. I was challenged in areas of my life and inspired and encouraged to step out and start a project without a perfectionist mindset. My perfectionist mindset has killed a lot of my willing to step out and risk because I don't want to fail. After listening to Jon, my eyes have been opened to this mindset and I will start to FINISH.

This is now one of my favorite Audiobooks. I listened to Wild at Heart and really like it so looked up other books by John. This was one of my finds and I have been encouraged and challenged. Now I need to apply it. :)
