Nice sequence to the Summoner series
Revisado: 04-08-22
In this book Fletcher evolves a lot as character and the plot thickens with a lot of twist and turns. Not only Fletcher but the other “kids” evolve as main central characters in the story.
Very good!

Nice entangling kids mage story
Revisado: 04-08-22
The Novice, the 1st book of the Summoner trilogy is a nice mage story, with a lot of similarities to Harry Potter and those alike.
Fletcher is a young kid who get to know magic and his powers.
I liked it a lot!

Historia
Kevin Mitnick was the most elusive computer break-in artist in history. He accessed computers and networks at the world’s biggest companies—and however fast the authorities were, Mitnick was faster, sprinting through phone switches, computer systems, and cellular networks. He spent years skipping through cyberspace, always three steps ahead and labeled unstoppable.

Real story of a real hacker!
Revisado: 12-14-20
Awesome audiobook! Awesome story! It's impressive where sheer curiosity led Kevin Mitnick. And especially, what's most impressive to me, despite the fact that Kevin was technically gifted, was that his biggest hacking "weapon" was social-engineering!
The audiobook kept me hooked the whole time and I absolutely enjoyed it! Super!

I really enjoyed "The Testaments". It's much better than the original "The Handmaid's Tale". It's impressive what almost +30 years of experience improved Margaret Atwood's writing!
The plot is very interesting, and the characters are very well developed. Recommended!

Wonderful portrait of America
Revisado: 11-05-20
John Steinbeck is a master representing the America of his time. The characters have that western feeling, that rural America feeling. The plot is well developed and his portraits not only of America but also of human nature are precious jewels that Steinbeck delights his readers.

A nice book about relevant issues of our society!
Revisado: 10-29-20
I must say that I like a lot the sociological discussion around social media and personal information disclosure! I was very expectant about this book and although I was a bit disappointed because the story is kinda cheesy and vulgar, the theme still is very relevant, and there are several pearls on the book, such as the ones below!
Mercer
"Social Media it's all gossip, it's people talking about each other behind their back. All these reviews, all these comments. Your tools have elevated gossip, hearsay, and conjecture to the level of valid mainstream communication!"
"Individually you don't know what you're doing collectively!"
"Don't presume the benevolence of your leaders"
"There are no oppressors. No one is forcing you to do this! You willingly tie yourself to these leashes and you're willing to become utterly socially autistic! You no longer pick up on basic human communication clues! You're at a table with 3 humans, all of whom are trying to talk to you and you're staring at a screen, searching for strangers in Dubai!"
Ty
"You create mob rule, a filterless society, where secrets are crimes!"
"All information, personal or not, should be known by all! Knowledge is the property and no one can own it! INFO COMMUNISM"
Ty - "So you think everyone should be tracked? Should be watched?" Mae - "I think everything and everyone should be seen, and to be seen we need to be watched! The two go hand in hand." Ty - "But who wants to be watched all the time?" Mae - "I do! I want proof I existed. Most people do, most people would trade everything they own, everyone they know, to know they've been seen, they've been acknowledged, they might even be remembered! We all know we die! We all know the world is too big for us to be significant. All we have is the hope of being seen, or heard, even for a moment!"

Historia
Sir John Penlyon is planning to spend Christmas at his estate with his niece and his friend Danby, the closest thing he has to family since disowning his daughter years ago. (She eloped with the parson, who was, of course, penniless.) Danby suggests that at Christmastime the estate needs the presence of small children, and offers to find some - the “hirelings” - despite Sir John’s skepticism. Three children duly arrive, and the youngest, precocious four year-old Moppet, quickly endears herself to Sir John.

Whether you’re a sunling or an earthling, growing up isn’t easy. Shy nine-year-old Gustafer Yellowgold has to grapple with neighborhood bullies, an over-achieving brother, and parental expectations just like kids on Earth do. He would rather lose himself in comic books and dream the day away than make deliveries for his father’s raisin-butchering business after school. Fateful events put Gustafer at his ultimate crossroad when he sees a darker opportunity to control his own destiny on the Sun.

Awesome dramatization of War and Peace!
Revisado: 10-29-20
This is a terrific work by BBC Radio 4! Superb!
The story in itself is one that keeps the listener hooked and reveals the greatness of Leo Tolstoy, but the dramatization adds a theatrical element that enhances the whole experience. One really feels that is in the trenches fighting alongside the Russian troops.
I loved it!
