Historia
Mysterious blackouts left Kira with precious few memories of events in her life, never mind those worth sharing. Somewhere in those blank spots she acquired skills - skills she was hard pressed to explain. But those skills got her a job as the new navigator for the Rented Mule, a transport ship that plied the Rim Systems at the very edge of human civilization.

Narrator is AWFUL!
Revisado: 04-25-16
Would you try another book from Jason Halstead and/or James Killavey?
I might try Halstead again, but Killavey is atrocious.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I really tried to get past the naration, and the story has potential. But I could only handle a few chapters before giving up.
What didn’t you like about James Killavey’s performance?
No sense of punctuation/pauses, really odd inflections. Also, no real change in voice for different characters.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Anger that I wasted a credit on this.

The Terran Union is engaged in a vast interstellar war against the Krag Ruthless aliens intent on exterminating humankind. In 2315, the wily Max Robichaux is given command of the USS Cumberland, a destroyer with state-of-the-art capabilities but a combat record so bad, she’s known as the “Cumberland Gap.” Capt. Robichaux’s first mission: to take his warship to the Free Corridor, where the Krag have secretly been buying strategic materials, and to seize or destroy any ships carrying enemy cargo.

Ugg!
Revisado: 01-19-15
What would have made To Honor You Call Us better?
This story was trying to be like David Weber's On Basilisk Station (the first Honor Harrington book if you're not familiar with it). But while that is an excellent read, this book falls far, far short. The characters are paper thin caricatures, and the dialog (if you can call it that) is one character pontificating at another. The author doesn't do a bad job of describing the action sequences, but that's where the narrator does his part to kill the story. The opening scene is an intense, ship-to-ship boarding action, but it's read in this over-acting, lackadaisical voice, devoid of any urgency, that would be more appropriate to a picnic in a meadow than a battle.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I've spent a credit on this book, I'm going to finish it - I don't care how much it hurts!

Historia
Rade Galaal enrolls in the hardest military training known to man to become a member of the MOTHs, the most elite fighting unit in the galaxy. MOTHs are tacticians, corpsmen, snipers, astronauts, and commandos rolled into one. They also happen to pilot the atomic-powered ATLAS mechs, specialized military hardware that brings new meaning to the phrase "one-man-army".

Trying to be Starship Troopers
Revisado: 01-19-15
Would you try another book from Isaac Hooke and/or Rhett Samuel Price?
Price wasn't bad as a narrator, and hopefully Hooke will become a better story teller - so yes, I'd try another book from them.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The action was interesting, but the characters were fairly stock, and never really developed.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Rhett Samuel Price?
yes
Was Atlas worth the listening time?
sure.
