Ugh
Revisado: 01-30-25
Just the worst piece of drivel I’ve ever listed to. I wanted to like it soo bad. However, the characters lacked real depth, even though there’s seemingly progression and story building it feels awkward and forced.

Historia
Vlad has lived longer than he has a right to, and the last hundred years have gone terribly, beginning with the death of his oldest friend and culminating in a hunter trying to invade his grandson’s estate. The presence of Kain could spell disaster for his court, but when he discovers that the Hellsing family had a seventh-born son of a seventh-born son, pointing out a flaw in his spy network, Vlad decided to keep the man with him. A decision that has absolutely nothing to do with how pretty the young hunter looks with defiance in his eyes and venom on his tongue.

Dang Good Listen
Revisado: 11-10-23
Where to start? The narrator was amazing, in so sad I only got to listen to him for 6ths. His voice was so velvety. -Ahem. Anyway, not only was the narrator great but for what it is it’s a pretty dang good book. And this is coming from someone who usually doesn’t like novels with a “love interest” element. Not to mention it’s a gay novel without gregarious “intimate” scenes. This book and world makes gay characters seem more real and less one-dimensional, which I think a lot of queer/gay books tend to do.
It’s a must listen.

Heartwarming
Revisado: 08-28-23
Probably the most heart warming book I’ve had the pleasure to listen to in awhile. The characters has so much personality, were thought provoking and really helped to bring the colors of the story to life.
You really get to follow the character and truly see a very complicated emotional development as they grow in the book.
If you really think about it, the book was a reflection of reality. Especially the 1960’s civil rights movement. It was great to see how the book really mirrored a time where there was strife for a subset of people. However the author does a great job in taking that and showing what the power of love can do to create change.
There was one thing I thought was a bit not to my taste, specifically the metrical aspect of the writing. It was very poetic. This didn’t take away from the story in any way. In fact I think it added to it. But it make me realize that I prefer language in prose.
Either way, You wont be disappointed.

House Gracefall wasn’t anything like what Derek had imagined it would be. Instead of rage and anger at the loss of one of their young masters, House Gracefall showed humility and even apologized. Despite one noble house exemplifying honor and nobility, another awaited to reinforce the negative stereotypes that Derek had been anticipating all along. Somehow, out of all that, Derek made a new friend, a new business partner, and learned some secrets, while Silvi got her first taste of the real world of cooking and loved it.

Pretty darn good installment. There’s not much growth in relation to the main character but if you love overpowered OP’s (like I do) then it’s fine. Still interesting new characters being introduced and the plot is moving along. I enjoyed it

Another Great Listen
Revisado: 07-12-23
It was a great book. The world building was pretty awesome. I like how the author built up the system itself and you’re always discovering something new along with the characters. It’s a breath of fresh air away from the traditional fantasy style LitRPG.

Regret
Revisado: 07-08-23
You ever regret something? That was me every time I listened to this book. I finished it for the sake of finishing it. But yeesh it was redundant, the main character lacked real evolution of feeling/depth. Idk, the action was pretty awesome but that couldn’t overshadow the lack of substance from the book.

Becoming a knockoff Dracula in tight leather pants was never part of Vincent’s plans. Neither was being summoned to another world by a cult of vampire wannabes. But both happened. Now, Vincent’s left to pick up the tattered pieces of his humanity as he tries to grow strong enough to keep his family safe. The world is filled with nightmares, and the looming threat of losing his soul stands between his goal and his reality, so it’s not like it will be too hard or anything. Hell should tremble. A good man is going to war.

It’s Great!
Revisado: 07-08-23
Thai is an amazing listen. The characters make you really identify with them. It followed the complexity of the “gray” area many of us probably face daily. The pacing is great, maybe a little fast but it could also be that I didn’t want the book to end.

A complete bore
Revisado: 04-17-23
I started listening to the book and didn’t stop because it was background noise. But the narrator initially was okay. Then I realized there was absolutely no inflection anywhere. No sense of real connection between him and the characters.
The characters seemed to lack depth. Nothing they did made me care.
That’s all I have to say.

I had to…
Revisado: 04-07-22
I listened to the book he used I bought it and I was too late to return it. At one point it just turned into background noise. The story started off pretty interesting. But that was it. It was lackluster. The main character had no real development though out until like the last hour. It was just a repetition of the same mistakes and not learning from them. Then a convenient plot moving event. Rinse. Repeat. The only saving grace was Nick Podehl.

Nick Bell? Not extraordinary. But being the most popular fan-fiction writer in the Extraordinaries fandom is a superpower, right? After a chance encounter with Shadow Star, Nova City’s mightiest hero (and Nick’s biggest crush), Nick sets out to make himself extraordinary. And he’ll do it with or without the reluctant help of Seth Gray, Nick's best friend (and maybe the love of his life).

I couldn’t make it until the end
Revisado: 03-21-22
The performance was great. There was a lot the book touched on (including mental health and mental disabilities). However, the entire plot lacked intricacy. You can literally guess the entirety of the book maybe an hour in. I will say the saving grace is the accuracy regarding verbal pander in the queer community. Spot on, very silly and amusing.
