Historia
When the body of man is found in a canal, damaged by the tides, carrying no wallet, and wearing only one shoe, Brunetti has little to work with. No local has filed a missing-person report, and no hotel guests have disappeared. Where was the crime scene? And how can Brunetti identify the man when he can’t show pictures of his face? The autopsy shows a way forward: It turns out the man was suffering from a rare, disfiguring disease.

That woman and her accomplices got away with stealing and abusing and even murdering children. It is sad and shocking the callousness of so many people.

Excellent history
Revisado: 09-20-21
This book is written at level that younger readers can enjoy. It is excellent history come to life. I took away one star for the “I fell in love with her the moment I saw her, she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen” rubbish! This is not a good message for girls.

Historia
The Poisonwood Bible is a story told by the wife and four daughters of Nathan Price, a fierce, evangelical Baptist who takes his family and mission to the Belgian Congo in 1959. They carry with them everything they believe they will need from home, but soon find that all of it - from garden seeds to Scripture - is calamitously transformed on African soil. What follows is a suspenseful epic of one family’s tragic undoing and remarkable reconstruction over the course of three decades in postcolonial Africa.

Thought provoking
Revisado: 06-29-17
We have all seen commercials of the starving children in Africa, this makes it real and provides insight as to why they are starving. The author has her view of how it could be corrected.....it will never happen. I don't know the answer. Since the beginning of time there are people that have felt justified in entering a land where people are living peacefully and kill, steel, make slaves and use the land for there own benefit. And it continues today. How people can live in extravagant luxuries knowing that people are being murdered and literally staving to death because of what they took is just mind boggling.
