Why do we think and do evil? What can science teach us about why humans do bad things? And what do our reactions to deviance teach us about ourselves? Drawing together science, psychology and philosophy, Julia Shaw unlocks the intricacies of the world of criminal psychology. Grappling with thorny dilemmas from 'would I kill baby Hitler?' to 'why do I want to murder my spouse?', Making Evil will give you a better understanding of the world, yourself and your Google search history.

Thesis: Evil is Subjective
Revisado: 11-18-19
You will likely have heard about a few of the experiments or statistics mentioned here, but the author does a good job putting them in context and using them to serve the overall thesis statement.
An interesting read to help you see society (and yourself) in a different light (darkness?).

Historia
Written with input from director Rian Johnson, this official adaptation of Star Wars: The Last Jedi expands on the film to include scenes from alternate versions of the script and other additional content. From the ashes of the Empire has arisen another threat to the galaxy’s freedom: the ruthless First Order. Fortunately, new heroes have emerged to take up arms - and perhaps lay down their lives - for the cause.

Does a great job filling in the gaps
Revisado: 05-24-18
If you liked the movie, you will likely appreciate the extra context provided here. Learning what characters were thinking in certain key moments was the highlight for me.
Marc Thompson is, as always, fantastic.

A true to form Star Wars adventure
Revisado: 03-27-17
One of the best Star Wars novels I've listened to so far. There's plenty of action, but it's also paced well, with enough space for getting to know the characters and their motivations.
Marc Thompson is fantastic as always: I'm sure I would not have enjoyed this as much as I did if I was reading it myself.
If you're watching the Rebels TV show or looking to get into this period of the saga in general, I cannot recommend A New Dawn enough!

Historia
Fans have long wondered what happened to Ahsoka after she left the Jedi Order near the end of the Clone Wars and before she reappeared as the mysterious Rebel operative Fulcrum in Rebels. Finally her story will begin to be told. Following her experiences with the Jedi and the devastation of Order 66, Ahsoka is unsure she can be part of a larger whole ever again. But her desire to fight the evils of the Empire and protect those who need it will lead her right to Bail Organa - and the Rebel Alliance.

An Ahsoka story read to you by Ahsoka herself
Revisado: 02-11-17
If you enjoyed The Clone Wars and want to learn more about one of its best characters - this is worth getting. Do note that it's a junior novel, meaning that readers around the age of Ahsoka herself will probably get the most out of it.
It was great hearing Ahsoka's voice again, however Ashley's narration was somewhat inconsistent. She struggled with some of the Imperial characters (the guy who found the moon for the Empire was the worst) and it was sometimes hard to tell the voices apart in group conversations.
Overall, while the story was at times predictable, I did enjoy the journey. Isn't that what counts?

Historia
In the war for control of the galaxy between the armies of the dark side and the Republic, former Jedi Master turned ruthless Sith Lord Count Dooku has grown ever more brutal in his tactics. Despite the powers of the Jedi and the military prowess of their clone army, the sheer number of fatalities is taking a terrible toll. And when Dooku orders the massacre of a flotilla of helpless refugees, the Jedi Council feels it has no choice but to take drastic action: targeting the man responsible for so many war atrocities, Count Dooku himself.

A great Star Wars love story
Revisado: 01-29-17
While story was originally conceived as an arc in The Clone Wars animated series, I think it ended up even better with the book being able to spend more time with the characters, learn their thoughts and feelings, and explore more mature themes.
To top it off, Marc Thompson did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life, especially considering how much emotion flows from these pages.
If you can, watch the TV show before reading this - the pay off will be worth it!
