Historia
In theology, just as in battle, some hills are worth dying on. But how do we know which ones? When should doctrine divide, and when should unity prevail? Pastor Gavin Ortlund makes the case that while all doctrines matter, some are more essential than others. He considers how and what to prioritize in doctrine and ministry, encouraging humility and grace along the way. Using four basic categories of doctrine in order of importance, this book helps new and seasoned church leaders alike wisely labor both to uphold doctrine and to preserve unity.

think beforehand
Revisado: 07-15-22
This book gives good examples of where a Christian should think carefully before speaking or acting when faced with a differing point of view. Humility and love should be our primary motivations when discussing different religious doctrines while still not compromising on the most important truths.

not what I expected
Revisado: 07-14-22
A philosophical and sociological look at world views to determine where they lead. This is an interesting way of examining human problems by looking at art and culture to find the inconsistencies of the most commonly held beliefs and where those beliefs take people, whether to despair or hope.

Historia
More teens are turning away from the faith than ever before: It is estimated that 75 to 88 percent of Christian teens walk away from Christianity by the end of their freshman year of college. Something must be done. Family Driven Faith equips Christian parents with the tools they need to raise children biblically in a post-Christian, antifamily society. Voddie Baucham, who with his wife has overcome a multigenerational legacy of broken and dysfunctional homes, shows that God has not left us alone in raising godly children.

what I needed to hear
Revisado: 07-08-22
Almost every piece of this was convicting. I heard how I failed but was not given to despair since an appropriate amount of information was supplied to affect a change in how I lead my family. I find Voddie Baucham to be an excellent speaker and teacher, he can explain things in the way I need to hear and understand.

Historia
Arthur Walkington Pink was an English Christian evangelist and biblical scholar who was known for his staunchly Calvinist and Puritan-like teachings in an era dominated by opposing theological traditions. Pink was one of the most influential evangelical authors in the second half of the 20th century. Pink's beliefs and teachings were largely Calvinist- and Puritan-based. Pink clearly brings us a scriptural analysis of what to expect from the second coming of Christ in a truly thought provoking book.

some good but some bad
Revisado: 09-16-21
Misuse of scripture is prevalent in parables and misinterpreting a prophecy is easy for everyone. His conjecture of what various Scripture means seems dubious and in fact one of his predictions based on Scripture is already proved false. This is why the Bible says that having many teachers or counselors is a blessing so that one may not be led easily astray.

Deep down here by the dark water lived old Gollum, a small slimy creature. I don’t know where he came from, nor who or what he was. He was Gollum—as dark as darkness, except for two big round pale eyes in his thin face. He had a little boat, and he rowed about quite quietly on the lake; for lake it was, wide and deep and deadly cold.

great performance
Revisado: 09-10-21
If you are familiar with the story then all you need to know is that the narrator is the best that I have heard in any audiobook. He does an amazing job at differentiating the characters by the voice and many sound like you would expect them to because of the movies.

Historia
All Things for Good by Thomas Watson provides the biblical answer to the contemporary question: Why do bad things happen to good people? Thomas Watson, the 17th-century minister of St. Stephen's Walbrook, believed he faced two great difficulties in his pastoral ministry. The first was making the unbeliever sad in the recognition of his need of God's grace. The second was making the believer joyful in response to God's grace.
