Disappointed.
Revisado: 07-02-23
When I read the brief description, I was intrigued and excited about the story line. Sadly, there were so many flaws in the story, the writing and the narration. The main character is supposed to be 38, but acts like she's in her early 20's. The story starts to pull you in and then abruptly changes direction, speeding ahead in time, and you never do find out about a previous situation and how it played out. I think the premise was there, but the story is like it was abridged many times over. Nothing is explained and completed in detail, but very disjointed, jumping to the next part. The narrator had difficulty with other voices other than the main character and was not convincing at all. I have never left a review this negative, but felt I needed to explain why I disliked it so much. I have an interest in herbs and herbal healing and that's why I chose this book. I was very disappointed.

Exceptional Feel Good Book!
Revisado: 02-06-23
Loved this book and marked it as one of my favorites. It is uplifting in many aspects and all of the characters are wonderfully written and you are made to feel like you know them personally, like real friends. The narrator is perfect. The plot is wonderful and shows how we can move from dark days into days filled with light, hope, friendships and love. I highly recommend this book, as it will make you feel like a cozy hug with a cup of tea in front of the fire. Loved it!

Historia
As a child, Evie Lindsay was unnerved by her premonitions. As an adult, they have become a simple fact of life - sometimes disruptive but also inescapable, much like her quirky, loveable family. Evie's mother, Poppy, and her aunts, Camellia and Iris, are well known on San Orcanita island. Evie's sister, Jules, is getting married on the island. As Jules plans her wedding, she arranges to do a DNA test with her family, to see how much accepted lore about their heritage holds true. The results blow apart everything Evie has grown up believing about herself and her family.

Slow and redundant storyline.
Revisado: 01-05-21
Three of my favorite books are by Cathy Lamb (What I Remember Most, No Place I'd Rather Be and Henry's Sisters). These three are exceptional books! I keep reading more of her books as they are released on Audible to find more that are that good, but sadly, I haven't found any that match the caliber of writing that those three have. This book's storyline was very dragged out and redundant, I don't need to hear the names of all of her extensive animal menagerie each time the main character, Evie, goes here and there or passes them by. . .it got very annoying. The book was extremely slow and drawn out and very repetitive with the same visions replayed over and over. However, when I got to the end of the book and things were finally explained, it was done in a hurry with very little detail, almost as if the author had had enough of the book and couldn't wait for it to end either. Also, I think the storyline was a little immature, at least for my taste. I will probably pass on any other books by this author, at least for a long while.

Historia
Emma London never thought she had anything in common with her grandmother Genevieve London. The regal old woman came from wealthy and bluest-blood New England stock, but that didn't protect her from life's cruelest blows. Genevieve rose from the ashes of grief and built a fashion empire that was respected the world over, even when it meant neglecting her other son. When Emma's own mother died, her father abandoned her on his mother's doorstep. Genevieve took Emma in and reluctantly raised her - until Emma got pregnant her senior year of high school.

I haven't listened to a book this good in a long time. This book made my top 10 list. The narrators were spot on, the plot was wonderful, and the story line from each person's life was wonderful. I didn't want this book to end. I highly recommend it!

Best Book I've Ever Listened To.
Revisado: 10-27-18
I'm not sure where to begin. I've listened and read a lot of books over my lifetime. Most were very good and some were excellent. This was outstanding. The narration was incredible. The characters were so real, you felt like you knew them in real life. This story had such depth to it. I've listened to many of this author's books and I'm not sure where she goes or what her experiences have been for her to create the stories that she does, but they all possess a brokenness and a traumatic theme. Fortunately, her books also focus on the healing and growth of the characters. This book forces you to experience all of your emotions, from sadness and anger, to laughter and while not joy, a move towards something akin to it. As you experience this book, you will definitely be affected by it and the characters in it. You will be emotionally drained as you move through it and will not wish for it to end. This book was make an amazing movie. I challenge you to pick out a favorite character, because you will love almost all of them. If I could, I would give it more than 5 Stars, because this book
deserves it.

By the time her husband Jeff, miffed over a recent argument, reports her missing, the trail has grown cold. Literally. Fog and ice encapsulate the mountainous wilderness and paralyze the search for her. Couldn't stop listening.
Revisado: 04-25-18
What did you love best about Mean Streak?
The characters and the unexpected twists.
What did you like best about this story?
I really liked how it ended, but I especially liked how the story fooled me, twice. I'm usually able to figure out how things are going to play out, but not in this book. I really couldn't stop listening to it!
Have you listened to any of Jonathan Davis’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but a great narrator.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes.
Any additional comments?
I highly recommend it.

Fabulous End to the Series.
Revisado: 01-14-18
The previous two books also had the same narrator as this one and she does a phenomenal job. This book tied up all the loose ends and was a series I wasn't ready to see come to a close. That being said, I really enjoyed all three books. I enjoyed all of the characters, especially the three women, as the author created three different personalities and created women who could stand up for themselves and show strength and courage when situations were against them. I highly recommend all three books for anyone who wants an edge-of-the-seat action, romance and a very enjoyable read.
