I think that if I tried to read this, I might have actually fallen asleep. Even as an audio book it reads like the book of numbers in the bible. 80% is dry statistics or genealogy punctuated by an occasional descriptive account of a battle or interaction. Don't get me wrong its a must read for any GOT fan who loves to dig into the minutia of otherwise forgotten or better forgotten characters.

Cornwell has a great story with superb characters. the lead Utred, is a composite of one or more historical figures but is believable and engaging.

Dick Fredericks seemed able to convey the range of emotion of Strobel as he travelled from doubtful, to inquisitive, to passionate explorer, to believer.

Compelling but predictable

Where does Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Apocalypse rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Jedi:Apocolypse falls in the middle of most of my reads and most of my Star Wars Novels. Whle I'm enjoying the story and performance, there is little left that is surprising.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jaina Solo because she's always seemed the reluctant hero and the most realistic. The rest of the "standard" cast have become little more than a cliche'. My overal favorite characters have always been Boba Fett and Han Solo... Boba has had some further development in some of the series but again in this series has fallen on to the same old...

Have you listened to any of Marc Thompson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Marc Thompson is excellent and should be the Voice of Star Wars forever.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Its time for a new series... though I would like to see a greater development of the Sith Lost Tribe, without it being such a cliche of "bad guy" back stabbing. The development of the Sith in the beginning of this series was great, but their rise to power was as ridiculous as their fall was convenient.

White touches on some amazing points in discussing history of the church and humanity describing parallels in our current culture and how we can preparing for serious times.

The delivery and writing style are excellent where it is highly intellectual it rarely goes over the average reader's head with contemporary references to modern life in media.
